From the very first time I saw the musical, Rent (a traveling tour that came to PPAC back in the late 90s), my life was forever changed and my calling to the stage and to the world of theater could never be more clear... Rent is everything the theater should be, making you laugh and cry at the same time and it also showed me for the first time in my life, that musical theater didn’t just have to be the traditional Disney and old-school, Rodgers and Hammerstein shows that I had grown up with… I have seen many productions of this show over the years, but never have I seen a production that was so raw, emotional and alive as the production I saw last weekend @ Academy… 🎭🎭🎭🎼🎶🎵🎤🎸🎹🎬 Betsy & Amaya, you were both just BORN to play Maureen & Mimi!!! To those of you up there whom I have known for many years and have often had the pleasure of working with, you were all fantastic and I can’t wait to work with you all again someday! To those of you up there whom I have yet to meet, you were equally fantastic and I CANNOT wait to work with you in the future as well!
