After the canon events of his childhood, Eddie found himself in a pretty difficult situation. He had yelled at his mom on more than one occasion because he was tired of her lying and manipulating him and he had began to gain a sense of courage that he never thought he was capable of; but he was still under her roof and in a way, still under her command. While she was never able to get in between Eddie and his friends again, that didn’t mean her grip on him had loosened completely. It was during a moment of intense inner turmoil while she was working her wicked verbal magic on him and making him question everything that his power first showed itself; and she’s honestly been a little scared of him ever since. She has tried several times to convince him that his power comes from some place of evil, and one flame is all it takes for her to dramatically make her exit in case he does something “drastic.”

Still, she doesn’t want him at the Diviner’s school either, she still wants him close. He jumped at the idea to go to the academy with all of his friends and it felt like a dream come true to be told that they were all special and powerful. That doesn’t mean he’s shown anyone his full potential though.

After the loss of Georgie and the battle with Pennywise, Bill’s life was changed forever. He spent several years wondering why he’d survived instead of his brother. So many hours were seemingly wasted as he poured over any book, article, or online journal he could lay eyes on, searching for something that could get him back in contact with his brother. Having always been interested in writing and having developed an affinity for the supernatural, he naturally began using writing horror stories as an outlet. Therefore, when he was taken from Derry and placed at Melworth Academy, he felt a sense of relief. Relief that his friends were miraculously able to come with him. Relief that the was finally in a place where he was understood and appreciated. And, he felt downright elated after being told he was placed in the Spiritual Classification; even more so after learning that his abilities lied with being a Psychic Medium- someone who was granted the innate ability to speak with and see the dead. Being a Level 1 means that Bill’s power is not nearly as polished as it should be- after all, he is only starting out. Currently, he gets flashes of the deceased in his peripheral vision, and is attempting to learn to tune out what his professors jokingly refer to as “Spirit Radio”- the constant white noise of spirit voices playing constantly in his head. He’s told that soon, once his abilities are only a little more refined, spirits will begin contacting him even more frequently, for various reasons- primarily to seek his help with any unfinished business they may have. His professors say this should be the part of his ability he focuses on most, however he simply cannot turn off being thrilled at the prospect of reconnecting with Georgie
