Not only is Billie Jean King an American former World No. 1 professional tennis player but she is an advocate for gender equality and has long been a pioneer for equality and social justice. Today she spoke to us about the importance of equality in the world, both what it was when she was growing up and what it means now more then ever. Listening to her speak at the Tri-State Camp Conference today for ACA Camps from all over was inspiring. Then after her speech she began to hit tennis balls at us while jamming out the the song Elton John wrote in her honor as her friend! I was so lucky to have caught one and then looked down and realized it was signed!
