alright... so i love me some world building and i love me some aliens. Accelerons are a part of the series i have been wanting to tackle and its kind of a... lot to tackle considering the lore they have is a grain of sand. So i am breaking this up into a few categories, with headings for each subject! its a lot. but it was fun. and i would really love to write more lore heavy Acceleracers stuff with all this figured out about the Accelerons now. at the moment i have no art but i will later be doodling accelerons as i really do want to get the visual out of the way!
The existing issues/obvious additions
The Accelerons have been shown all the way back in the WR comics, where they appeared like typical “greys” (tall grey or green aliens with large heads and eyes. But they were not shown in WR and only fully appeared in Acceleracers once. With a brief look at them finally, they appear to be tall, blue skinned, upright with awkward digitigrade legs. They have a pretty typical outfit not unlike the human racers’.
My two problems are mainly 1) they have like... no canon lore outside of the things the humans discover (the realms, drones, accelechargers) which explains nothing about them or their life. 2) The design of them has nothing to do with what their society or culture could be like- theyre racing aliens... but theyre just humanoids with digitigrade legs- and while i plan to keep them recognizable i also want to add details to explain their history. So the main additions here are to their design (while considering design of all other things like world, vehicles, etc) and their personal race lore.
Anatomy
The Accelerons are a tall (5’7 to 7’0) humanoid species with digitigrade legs and short horns. They are covered in a thick, rubbery skin that is harder plated on their back, shoulders, head and the upper side of their legs and arms. While reptilian, the species is not cold blooded and does not lay eggs.
Their heads are narrow and their horns jut back smoothly, sometimes curling inward. The length of the horns is often short and some may have none. Their feet are flat with a minor arch, with two large toes that curve inward. Along their back, the hard part of their flesh becomes bumpy from their shoulder down to their tailbone. Around their neck, bumps may be seen, creating indents and almost gill-like shape from their necks to their chest.
Accelerons are often muted monotone, consisting of cold colors like blue and purple. They are typically patterns with a dark color on their backs and a lighter color on their undersides, and marked with speckles of streaks. Their eyes are often a bright cyan blue due to their brain-tech. Naturally, they are amber to brown.
Accelerons do not conform to gender expectations of humans and do not have organs exactly like humans either, but similar in theory. One of the members has a sperm-giving organ, which produces a spermatophore (which forms similar to an egg). It is inserted with that member’s organ into the body of another- where it develops inside the womb. However, all members of the species can contain variation of these organs- some have both, some have one and reproduction with the self (asexual) is possible with their advancements in technology.
Brain-tech and Celessons
Accelerons are a species that has evolved to be reliant on their technology. Aside from extreme advancements in realm-jumping tech and incredibly high speed vehicles, the species is known as it is for its brain-tech. They rely so heavily on the knowledge and advancements of their species that all Accelerons have brain computers implanted in their brains at birth. This brain-tech gives all of the species access to the same technology, thus making it easy for everyone to work off of everyone else and spread new advancements. It also allows the species to mature incredibly quickly.
The brain-tech is implanted at birth and appears as a glowing shape on their forehead, with additional glowing lines running down their horns. The way it is implemented often causes their eye color to be altered, left a light cyan or almost white. The glow is not intense by any means, but notable in the dark.
Accelerons without the brain-tech exist, but very few, and they live very unconnected from their tech counterparts. They are referred to as their original species name- Celessons. They live generally advanced lives too with their own tech, but chose not to use brain-tech. Accelerons can often be egotistical and look down at those without brain-tech.
World & Culture
Accelerons live in a very fast-paced world, literally and figuratively. Their society is driven by knowledge and advancements, it is their main drive as a species and it's hard for them to slow down for anything else. Families and loved ones are often mixed into this- there is never a time where anyone isn’t bringing up what to do next. From the day an individual matures, they are thrust into the world of science and technology. Staying locally or moving out into space with fleets of Accelerons are the common choices for many.
Just as busy as their work and personal life is- the Accelerons live in bustling, teched-out cities. Networks of streets raised to all kinds of heights to get around, as their love and interest in cars and racing still remains strong even after detaching from the Drone project.
While much of the Accelerons have advanced in science and tech- they still hold old beliefs about one’s soul- it is personal and a very real part of the individual. Oftentimes they believe their technology could advance so far as to truly understand what a soul is, and it's a common drive for many when it comes to research and understanding the most complicated of ideas in the universe.
Ancient Origins
Celessons evolved from a species that was bipedal and roamed the land at high speeds, making great use of their double lungs and extra breathing points to keep their bodies moving for long periods. As they evolved, they quickly spread through their homeworld of Celeregni. As their tech advanced, they spread through the small solar system and eventually achieved space travel allowing them to travel light years away.
Gender, Name, and Relationships
In Acceleron culture, all beings are referred to as “they/them” in casual context. Pronouns are seen as honorifics- when speaking personally about a loved one, they may use “she/her” or “he/him” based on an individual’s expression.
Names are also seen multiple ways in multiple contexts. There is a “face name” and a “soul name”. The face name is the name chosen by those who birthed or cared for the individual, the soul name is chosen by the individual when they mature. The face name is casual, it is what everyone knows your face as- work, in passing, in documents, etc. The soul name is personal and often only spoken by loved ones- partners and family. However on official documents where full names are required, the face name and soul name are written. Additionally a “surname” of sorts exists purely for differentiating others, it is generally the name of the parent(s).
Names themselves are usually short works, often consisting of many hard consonants (x, k, sh, ch, t, c, z, s) hummed consonants (m, n) and short vowels (e, o, a). Examples include Eko, Shek, Zossa, Tenko, etc
Accelerons like to keep things as business- hence the need for a casual name and a personal name. Relationships should not interfere with research and science- it is seen as inappropriate to have that get in the way and be shown publicly during work periods. However, relationships still mean a lot to the species- it just needs to be private. Many of the species end up being polyamorous or open due to the looseness of how relationships are taken. It isn’t uncommon to have many varying partners for different needs, mostly with how much the species moves around in order to continue research. To humans, their relationships may not feel as emotionally deep or romantic due to the fact they may move light years away from each other quite often.
Drones, Realms, and after humans
The Accelerons developed the drones at the height of their racing advancements. They wanted to perfect their own racing so much that they needed something to compare and test. Creating a robot to race against allowed them to stay contained within their own species, and go further with their ideas on a non-living entity. However, the Accelerons started having trouble with the drones as their AI started to become too competitive and they felt they were losing sight of their intentions. Many many years before humans rose to their current status, the Accelerons scattered their technology across the once lonely planet in shame for their project getting out of hand. They abandoned the drones and expected them to never awaken.
However, as the drones have yet again been triggered back to life, the Accelerons refuse to acknowledge the human meddling with their old technology. They have since moved on to other projects and don’t wish to recognize their creation of the drones.
[thats all the lore for now… i have ideas for the acceleron that came through the portal thing at the end but thats kinda. More for a rewrite. They’ll be a fully fleshed out OC]

A combination of Acceleracers tribute and revisit of a very old image from 2012, of Kurt Wylde of Teku driving Battlespce in the waste land of scrap and rust know as the Junk-yard Realm.
