Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers - Young Teku Members Photoshoot Fan-Art (April 2025)

Hello there everyone and welcome (back) to my Tumblr account! I apologize for the lack of art-related posts for the past month, but I’ve been busy working on perfecting this particular fan-art drawing I am showcasing today (and playing Minecraft with my friends). I have been very interested and invested in the “Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers” movie series and I plan on making more fan-art for the films, including today’s post.

I was scrolling Pinterest looking for some drawing inspiration when I came across a photo that I used as a reference (third slide) for this particular piece. The reference image seems to be of a photoshoot and I thought it would be fun to play with the idea of the young Teku members having their photos taken for some special event. This fan-art drawing took me forty-eight hours to complete and was created using the app “Procreate”. I used this particular piece as practice with using real-life references for my drawings and to improve upon my shading/lighting skills. Overall, I had a lot of fun while working on this drawing and I hope you all enjoy the finished product as much as I do!

I still have a long way to go in my artistic journey, but I’m pretty proud with myself for how this drawing turned out. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day and thank you so much for taking the time to check out my art!

Normally I don't collect boy toys but I am a huge fan of Acceleracers, so I had to snag myself some of these before they go out of stock. I don't have the original cars from 2005 so I can't make a direct comparison.

The bottom isnt plastic thank God!

I'm a little disappointed that they didn't make a second Metal Maniacs to go along with the Teku. I would've liked to have Porkchop's truck or Spine Buster - MAI CAH! - in my hands.

I took Sling Shot out for a test run.

There's no chipping and the decals aren't wonky. The wheels aren't bent and I don't see signs of melting. Yep, Mattel did a good job with this one, a rarity considering what kind of company they are.

I'm thinking about getting another hot wheels car that looks like something the Maniacs would drive. It's only fair if both teams has 2 representatives. Hopefully we'll get more Acceleracers in the future. I'm not asking for a 5th movie - though I won't complain if we did 😁- but enough to let me know that Mattel hasn't forgotten about this series.

Hi fellow racer fans, I have a conundrum. I own all the Acceleracers movies, they were originally my brothers, but he doesn’t really like racing and cars anymore so I’m the only one who uses them now. Well they’re my comfort movies and I’ve watched them so much that the 4th movie disk no longer works.

Thing is, I got married last year and I was showing my husband (at the time boyfriend) the movies and the last movie wouldn’t work, since last year he has repeatedly tried to replace it but we keep getting dud disks that don’t work, does anyone know where we can watch it, I keep accidentally slipping up with spoilers cause I forget they’re from the last movie when I’m in hyperfixating mode and telling him all about the fan theories that are connected to the last movie. >_<

Please help.
