August 2021, I woke up to find an email that my password to my US PSX account had been changed. The email change request notifications had been sent, but I was asleep. My email for the account was also changed. I wrote to PSX tech support to let them know about. Today, I woke up to an email from PSX to change my password. (!!!!!!!) After checking the email headers, it did seem like it was from Sony PSX so I entered a new password. I logged in from the official site and was asked to verify my account. So now after 9 months I have my account back! I did tell the person who helped me that I was just reporting what happened and did not expect my account back so to get it back now is such an astonishing delight.
