TV Series: Hollywood (2020)

Pairing: Avis Amberg/Ace Amberg

Summary: Avis has her moment with Ace as he is in his coma revealing her deepest inner thoughts out loud (as described by Patti LuPone in her cutting room floor). We then follow both Avis and Ace's subsequent recovery whilst their relationship changes before he returns back to the studio.

For anyone who watched Hollywood (2020), (if you haven’t, you should) I found that the ending for Avis & Ace was out of the blue when there must have been more psychological impact after 10 years of affairs on both of their parts, and therefore some more obvious discussion. I definitely felt like something was being missed. So in walks Patti LuPone with the revelation that there was a cut scene of an “aria”, where she reveals her undying love for him, which made so much more sense to me. This started off as me filling in the blanks with my head and trying to get it onto paper so it would leave my head, but then it just grew and grew so it’s almost a novel now.

I have never written anything before in my life, having thought I was never good enough. In high school I was told I was terrible at English and my imagination was too wild. So, I haven’t posted it on here until now as I was utterly embarrassed at the idea of writing a fanfiction, thinking it would likely be absolute rubbish. However, after a couple of months of writing, and growing confidence from the outpour of comments, here I am, ready to share it for anyone who is interested. It’s just my take on the situation, and I don’t pretend to be anything other than a novice with shocking grammar. I don’t own anything, and am just thankful to Ryan Murphy, Patti LuPone and Rob Reiner for creating something which inspired my thought process, leading to a new hobby I was too scared to consider in the past, and getting me through lockdown. Not to mention the time I was allowed to immerse myself in the history of the time period to keep it as authentic as possible, as well as educate myself on anti-semitism at the time period in question was such an amazing find for me, a person who is thrilled with any kind of history. It has been the most cathartic, enjoyable experience and I am so thankful for everyone who has taken the time to comment, message, or kudos it because it’s given me such a boost.
