not only is it our first real look into the event... its got some BIG BIG BIG reveals.

The Caretaker and The Usher were both used as examples, and it was mentioned that "other iconic characters" will be seen in the event!

So... we are, in fact, getting essentially a big ass icon zone in the form of the overarcing story

I am realizing that hhn is a perfectly Universal haunt.

And its for one reason and one reason only.

A lot, and I mean a LOT of the lore goes into the dark side of creativity. How creativity can be dangerous.

Jack is a creator who makes weapons of destruction. He also uses phrases like "think outside the box", which are heavily associated with the concept of creativity

Albert literally reshaped the islands of adventure into his own twisted image, the first icon to actually do something like this.

Both Paulo and Elsa are creators by default with different mediums.

Paulo's creativity goes into the concept of horror that seems real. One of his trailers says it best. "My best performances are thanks to some rusty hooks, or a piece of rope". This entire character is about taking simple things and making scares out of them

Elsa's creativity is in her worldbuilding. If youve never deep dived hhn15 I would heavily suggest you do so. There is so much more to her than her promotional material. Creating worldbuilding with set rules that are so memorable that your characters get their own scarezone 15 years later is peak creativity

Just. Just read through Mary's diaries and see what she subject people to. Thats some Jack and Chance level macabre creativity.

Julian, while not a creator himself, is heavily focused on the creations of others. His entire persona is based on the world of old horror movies, echoes of frankenstiens monster and the phantom of the opera visible in every word he says.

Fear has nothing. Fear is defined only by his heralds and that pisses me off.

Lady Luck is literally responsible for one of the most prolific hhn creatives of all time. Shes also a shape shifting actress. So. Yeah. Really creative

Chance takes the idea of a vivid imagination and turns it dark, making a mix of maladaptive daydreaming and reality bending that defined her year.

Oddfellow is a creator who is very good at making people see only what he wants them to. That is a core part of theater and film and all sorts of visual arts.

Bone, Sinist3r and Surr3al all have a type of creativity regarding their individual festivals. They all created a self centered celebration of their individual traits.

And finally, Sergio is a cautionary tale about the influence of others in your creative works, and how the environment you are in can influence how you create

Okay time for a follower cleanse:

-I dont think the Fortnitemares zone is a bad idea

-I dont think it ruins the anniversary year, 30 also had a tame IP (Beetlejuice), and even some icon years have had tame IPs (HHN12's Fear Factor, for instance)

-Fortnite is a first person shooter. It is not a kids game, just another stylized game that kids like, its not made for kids

-it works as a zone. Scaffolding and oversized weapons. Perfect zone aesthetic

-there's a nostalgia factor. I am remembering playing during the heyday. I also remember the jumpscares being effective the last time I played during Halloween.

Tldr: I am pro Fortnitemares zone and think it can be done well.

Ykw? Im going to share some scents ive found that remind me of hhn. Bc I realize I have quite a few:

1. Confetti Cake and Vanilla and Honey by Ashland (candles): these both smell like Major Sweets. Vanilla and Honey is more the "walking into candy factory during the overlay" smell and Confetti Cake is the "walking through the house" smell

2. Sea Spray by Bath and Body Works: smells IDENTICAL to the Museum room with the ocean smell

3. Immortal by Bath and Body Works: the undertones in this one smell like when you're in a house and walk into a forest room. Idk which house exactly but ive smelled this before

4. Carnival Fog by Bath and Body Works: smells like walking out of a hhn house and into a scarezone. The last bits of pumped in smell and lots of fog juice

As someone who doesn't click with IP zones as easily as others, its funny watching the reaction to fortnitemares vs downtown clown town

Bc all it took was art the clown coming back for the vitriol at fortnitmares to just... vanish
