It’s okay Malleus, it happens to the best of us 😌🙂↕️
D&D with heartshackle and Mal <3
Sort of a continuation of my last post where Malleus misinterpreted what Yuu meant by being into “Dungeons and Dragons.” He knows now though! (Even if he was a little disappointed at first)
If you don’t know what any of these things mean: roll dice to see how good you do. 20 very good, 1 VERY bad :)
Full comic under the cut (I hope the layout doesn’t get too messed up…)
This is the most effort I’ve put into a comic EVER. Idk why I decided this needed colour, I guess I’m just a masochist 🤷♀️
Also don’t mind that this is a day late, my house is being turned inside out rn and I’ve been WALLOPED by the flu so ya boi had to snooze most of the day yesterday.
ALSO also, thank you SO MUCH to everyone who’s been interacting with my art over the past few days. It makes me SO HAPPY and some of the replies are so funny I keep going through the notes just to smile <<33 it’s been making this time that I’m home sick and miserable so much better, so thank you all SO SO MUCH <<<<<33333 I love you all and I will make lots of soup for you to enjoy 😊
Ace Trappola is no stranger to being obnoxious in baffling ways. While he isn't immune to shame, he definitely has resistance for it. That's the entire reason he was able to propose himself as your first kiss, without immediately ducking out of the situation.
He caught you in a secluded area on campus, thankful that neither of you had obligations at that moment. No club activities, no chaos amongst your dorms (yet), and no potential onlookers. It was just you, Ace, and a ridiculous plan he thought of sharing.
When you asked him why he'd WANT to kiss you at all, he scoffed. Do you really have to make him sound that desperate? "You're like the only person I know that's never kissed someone, aside from maybe Deuce. You could learn from a real pro like myself."
You stare at him.
Ace Trappola, the same person you had conflicting feelings about for months. When he spoke, you could never tell if it came from a place of sincerity or a lead-up to a punchline. Developing feelings for someone like him was torment on an entirely new level.
While you weighed the options, he stood awkwardly. He planned out how he'd recover the conversation if you said no AND had a vague idea of how he'd act if you miraculously said yes. He didn't anticipate you saying absolutely nothing.
He was ready to snap his fingers in front of your face to grab your attention. You shrugged before he got the chance. "Sure, if you want to."
Of all his whims and stupid jokes, he never imagined you'd actually agree to this one. His wide eyes made it clear that he was surprised.
He snaps out of that temporary daze. His head turns around fast enough to surely give him whiplash. He checks to make sure the coast is clear, with nobody else in sight. "Alright then," he spoke, "Just try not to fall too hard for me."
He nags at you to close your eyes. Otherwise you'd make it weird. So you listen to him, and close your eyes. He leans in, just enough for your lips to brush. He pulls away immediately. He was so quick that you barely processed what even happened.
You opened your eyes to see his flushed face. He had a wobbly grin, which he seemed to fight to maintain. All of his previous teasing felt so disconnected from how he was appearing now.
There was a beat of suffocating silence before you leaned in on your own. His hands fumbled to grab your shoulders when you actually pecked him on the lips.
All his talking earlier, about your inexperience compared to him, died in his throat. With the sensation of your lips on his, making his face feel too tingly, he looked away. He had no snarky remark to grab your attention.
He was embarrassed, and that was obvious when you asked if he was okay. He's always dramatic with the way he sighs, and that time was no different. His body felt like static, all from what? A stupid prank on his end, for 'just a friend.'
He tried to force himself to look you in the eye. Ace, who always called romance and affection "too corny," was struggling to look at his crush.
He cleared his throat in a way that sounded almost painful. "I'm so good that you wanted a second one, huh?" His voice wavered, and he had a stupid grin on his face.
I've been reading your twst fanfics for a while and I love all of them!! Could you do some headcanons of Ace about how he would spend time to take care of the Prefect, when they're already dating...? Or just what he'd do on a date with Prefect 😭 love you, please have a good day <3
Since it's headcanons, both can work! Thank you for reading, especially with how often the wording has been repetitive 🙇 have a great day as well!
Daily headcanons start from: early relationship (fumbling) -> experienced with relationship
Content: GN!Prefect, established relationship, not proof read, brief extra student mentions (Deuce/Trey/Riddle/first years), no real dialogue.
^Surprisingly not much to tag so I'm making stuff up
Daily Basis
Ace is very much aware of his fumbling, so when you first started dating, he knew he had to lock in. The first few weeks of the relationship just so happened to consist of... a lot of trial and error.
He puts in extra effort to act cool around you, because if he's not constantly doing a parlor trick or flirting, he thinks you will gradually become unimpressed.
You had to get used to opening Ramshackle's door just to see your boyfriend leaning against its frame with an expression of forced nonchalance, bringing some sort of flowers. Every. Single. Time.
It didn't end there—he always had a cheesy line for equating the flowers to your appearance. You were pretty sure you saw a notepad of pickup lines fall out of his pocket one day, as much as he assured you it was "nothing". Ace only stopped after a particularly mortifying day. He came to Ramshackle's doorsteps with Riddle's signature collar around his neck, slouching like a soaked puppy with a couple of Heartslabyul's roses in his hand. You could infer what happened, and made sure to have a talk with him while bandaging the thorn pricks on his hands.
After that incident, Ace had—thankfully—become somewhat less desperate to always put on an entertaining show for you. That did not mean he wasn't still cheating against others in card games for your attention, or getting into fights with students who mildly irritated you.
One thing that never changed was his penchant for skipping classes. It was very obvious how Deuce was not always included anymore, just for the sake of quality time. There was a sense in freedom of using class time to cuddle up on a bench, laughing at each other's gossip and Magicam feeds. Until the professors found out. Staying together for remedial lessons was romantic in its own way, if you ignore how long it took to complete them with Ace being a huge distraction.
On the topic of Magicam, he loves to flood your DMs with his selfies in different environments, and boasts it to the other first years when you send any singular selfie back.
As much of a flop as he is, you'll sometimes be surprised by how casual he is with genuine gestures of care. If he sees you shivering on a chilly day, he will put his blazer over your shoulders while claiming "you should have dressed warmer," and that "he doesn't need it anyways."
He also has a surprisingly amazing memory for things you like. That's exactly how he quickly adapted from fumbling to composed.
And he makes it known. It can be slightly embarrassing when he speaks up after a server gets your order wrong. It extends to telling people off when they're doing something that annoys or overwhelms you.
One of the best parts about his good memory and people-reading skills is that his gifts never miss. Sure, he'll still buy gag gifts to make you roll your eyes or laugh at it, but then there's the genuine ones that he saves for. He once spent half of his weekly budget and a whole day trying to get a plushie from a claw machine since you had been staring it down. He only got it after a staff member took pity on him.
He also tries to cook on special occasions, such as dates, holidays, birthdays...sometimes for apologies...
He knows your preferences, but it takes far more time to beg Trey for lessons and successfully replicate everything himself. The culinary crucible course had fortunately aided his cause.
At least you know you're in good hands when you're sick. Not only does he cook, but he can clean your dust-caked dorm while mumbling curses about the Headmage for not fixing up Ramshackle and overworking you! He tries to be quieter than usual when you're feeling unwell, to your relief.
He will still jumpscare you with an uncool pickup line or failed trick once in a while, no matter how much he adapts to the relationship. He continues to miss some of the basketball shots that are meant for you, or accidentally drops the cards in his sleeves during a "magic" trick.
Dates
More often than not, Ace takes you on high-energy dates if you're on board with it.
Amusement parks are his favorite. He's always trying to get you on the tallest, fastest rollercoaster, or the scariest free-fall. If you don't like thrill rides? It's fine, he might tease you about riding them, but he's not forcing you. Not when he can get you on a teacup ride and spin the wheel until he accidentally breaks the ride. Don't appreciate getting dizzy? He can try to win prizes from scam games for you. And make loud complaints to the game operator when he fails his nth attempt. It isn't dampening his mood since he'll still get on rides solo, so you can see the faces he makes on the ride's snapshots. Plus, there's pretty good food.
He just thinks the Ferris Wheel is a little overrated because "he can fly you way higher than that" on his magic broom.
If your feet begin to feel sore from walking, he notices fairly quick, and offers you to sit down while he fetches food or drinks.
Playing any type of sports together is also a fun date option when you're both tight on budgets. Just because you're a couple, it doesn't mean Ace will hold back; he ONLY makes an exception if you look very upset at a lose streak. If he is the one on a lose streak, you know he'll be pulling underhanded tactics soon. Not harmful. Just underhanded.
Taking him on movie dates isn't advised unless you're fine with him giving the blow-by-blow on every single thing that happens, or unless you need him there for a horror film. Even if he enjoys the film, his commentary is unintentionally loud, regardless.
Ace is fine with quiet dates, especially if that's what you need. And he always asks if there's a couple discount at cafes.
He likes to share food if it's with you. As in, he'll offer his food, then stare intently at your food if not offered in return. He has the courtesy not to take huge bites out of your food. You're actually pretty sure he gives you a larger portion of his own compared to what he takes from yours.
All of this and he still doesn't know what time is appropriate for a first kiss. It's been months since the relationship started, by the way.
We (or I, I suppose) are on the final stretch with the last 5 students~! Then I’ll be able to open preorders for these (following figuring out whether I should sell them as standees or keychains) so look forward to that!
