Here's a couple liveblog suggestions/requests: the movie Hogfather, Dragonball since you mentioned never watching it and it could be fun though addmittedly it'll take a WHILE to liveblog, Epithet Erased and finally JoJo's Bizzarre Adventure? I'd request a webcomic too but I dunno if you'd liveblog a comic.

I’ve seen the Epithet Erased, but the rest are fair game! Tho I feel like Dragonball wouldn’t be a great liveblog since it’s so action-oriented, and all my fight scene liveblogs are “(screenshot of character getting thrown into a wall) fucking OW”

Interesting! I could totally see one of the twins being trans, although I couldn’t guess which one. Probably Edric.

Yeah, in retrospect, there was really no evidence the Conformatorium got took down at all, it was really just a prison break. I don’t really know enough about Belos to comment on the latter half of this (after all, I thought his name was pronounced Bay-los until I heard it in covention.) But that’s probably true. Also, “Not very dangerous at all criminals”? Clearly you don’t know the atrocities Eating His Own Eyes Guy has committed.

Yeah, I guess so. The thing is I went into this show with my only knowledge of Amity besides her name being she was “Luz’s rival”, so I kind of expected them to play into that, instead they did the exact opposite and tried to dismantle that as quickly as possible. One of the many reasons I don’t like Hooty’s Moving Hassle is that it immediately puts Amity and Luz back in the rival box, when they were really starting to make a serious connection in Covention, but they pretended like that just didn’t happen, so it felt wildly out of place, really disconnected from everything else. And then they established their bond again (albeit in a much better way) in Lost in Language. It’s just a weird specific gripe I have with that episode, one of many.

There’s a few shows I’m thinking about picking up after I’m done with season 1, and if season 2 isn’t announced by then. (Who knows, it could be two years before we get season 2.) 

Right now I’m thinking about Avatar: The Last Airbender, Amphibia, She-ra and the Princesses of Power, I’m a huge Ducktales fan so if that gets a fourth season I’m definitely gonna liveblog that, but that’ll be in the far future, if at all. Earlier I was thinking about employing @mindareadsoots​‘ patented binge-blogging technique in the chance I ever want to give the 2016 Ben 10 Reboot another try, since I’ve heard it’s gotten substantially less awful. (For context, Ben 10 is my favorite show of all time.) And a BIG MAYBE is My Hero Academia. 

These are all shows I want to get to at some point, but they’re also all the options for what I’m gonna do after I finish Owl House.

@aceotaku Yeah, the very end of the season was kinda...rushed, I guess?  Truncated might be a better term.  They crammed the triumphant reunion in there at the end and didn’t really have the returned princesses do very much before the climax of their powers.  I’m not sure it would have been an extra episode’s worth of content, though.

In the comics, Raven’s powers are completely different, at least from what I’ve read. She’s an empath who can affect people’s emotions at will or something, and can separate her soul from her body in the form of a giant raven shaped shadow. In the comics, raven’s mother was a former member of a satanic cult whose group summoned Trigon, who proceeded to impregnate the woman and horrify her with his cruelty and appearance, and she fled to Azarath where the neutral, pacifistic inhabitants kept her and helped raise Raven, with raven abandoning her people to stop Trigon’s evil plans despite her people telling her to stay out of it and leave Trigon alone to his plan (the people of Azarath are kinda cowards). We see a world under Trigon’s rule, where everyone either sycophantically worships him or fears him terribly, and he murders a child for basically really petty reasons and laughs about it to Raven’s face. Sometimes Raven turns evil when Trigon returns (cause comics tend to bring back villains on occasion), but that’s about all I know.

I don’t generally read comics, but I love when people describe them to be, because damn, shit happens in them. This show so far has avoided talking about Raven’s mother or childhood very much. The  best we got was that random appearance in the middle of season 4 for like 30 seconds, which explains absolutely nothing. 

I like how completely unrelated Raven’s powers are there. Yes, you can mess with people emotions and shit, but ALSO you can turn into a giant raven shadow, because why the hell not

yeah, Bakugou is many things, but sexist he ain't. THis episode shows that he's not just a one dimensional bully or bad guy like he initially seemed, there's a litt more to him. He's a still a butt though.

Tbh, I’ve always had the feeling that Kaachan wasn’t just a one dimensional bully. There was always an underlying depth to his character that was hard to see because he’s such an ass. 

This episode just highlighted that depth in an amazing way.

True, true. I just think it’s funny that everyone (not in the front row) all chose to sit as far to the right as possible. I feel like if they weren’t trying to avoid Kacchan they’d probably be a little more spread out. xD

@aceotaku It’s weird, you’d think taking down Mystacor would be something the Horde wants to do.  It makes perfect sense for her to obsess over Adora instead of focusing on Mystacor’s downfall in this instance (although she did so by taking down Mystacor’s defenses), but one would think it would’ve come up in her interactions with Hordak.  Surely he knows where she came from.

if you think Midnight's outfit is bad enough now, just wait till I tell you that in the manga her outfit was more obviously meant to be flesh coloured than white, and is more clearly skintight, giving the illusion she's topless. Not only does this explain why she's the R-rated hero, but it also makes fun of the ridiculous sexy costumes many female superheros wear in comics!

I don’t think her outfit is bad but that is pretty fucking funny.

Hm... well, I suppose the obvious answer is that he must be gaining some control over it. It seemed like this time he controlled the actual output of force since he didn’t break Todoroki’s arm either. Or knock him off the other kids. Just, pushed his arm out of the way.
