I didn’t mean to do it all out of order, but I bought Bloodlines on the Audible app when it was still kind of shitty and it didn’t mention it was a spin off. (I did the same thing with Curseworkers…) Finally finishing VA now.
Well Bloodlines gives away the story, but not enough that you can really understand until you read it, so you've still got very good reading ahead of you. The VA books get better as you go along (as I'm sure you've heard), so you're just getting started.

I’m reading it for the first time now. But I read Bloodlines first so I’m super spoiled for VA. Hahahaha.
Oh wow I didn't realize you hadn't read va yet. Well yeah, Bloodlines has spoiled it. When I read it I had to wait for the next book to come and it was torture. You may be doing it the smarter way.

I don’t remember them ending up together in the books? I remember him convincing her she wasn’t better than him? But to be fair, I read them when i was 14 and too young to know what the heck was happening
She hasn't read them in forever either, so she might be wrong. I just downloaded the first one so I'll work through them eventually and find out I suppose. But even the idea of it just kinda makes me cringe.

Someone did that with a chocolate donut at work the other day. I was pissed off the entire day thinking about it.
achickwithacrossbow said: And like a third of a donut. There’s always that pathetic third of a donut in the otherwise empty box. It’s like ‘gee, thanks guys…
Okay, right? Somehow it's even worse than there just not being any. I don't want your scraps, I want a whole donut/bagel
achickwithacrossbow replied to your post:saw the vampire academy movie it...
Agreed. It was a little cheesy but I almost feel like they did that on purpose. I enjoyed it, for sure. I just want Frostbite so I can have Adrian Ivashkov on the big screen.
Yeah, I'd really like to see him on the screen. When the last name was shown on the screen for just a second I freaked out a little bit. I just wish the lines would have been a little better. But the series gets better as it goes along so I hope they get a chance to do the other ones.

ADORABLE OMG. Also my cat needs that hat. (My cats will never wear hats though. Billy loves shirts and costumes, but not the hat parts.)
Cats don't like having their ears covered...but it also renders them immobile for at least as long as it takes to photograph them! I'll have to dig out the pirate hat next.
I believe that quote is from MtD. Which is hilarious because it's one of my absolute favorite quotes but I really hated that book. (I hated it less upon a later reread, but then I'd read the LATER books, and it was kind of awesome by comparison.)
Thank you, much appreciated, post updated. I totally agree with you, that book started out alright, found the quote about 1/3 into MtD (ch.10). It just got crackier and crackier. I had to skim it the first time, it was so bizarre.
Yes, in retrospect, MtD was definitely kind of awesome by comparison to the EVEN CRACKIER BOOKS (Blood Canticle, more like WTF Canticle.)
