Acid Brain 酸腦 - Heptaméron 七日譚 -
Acid Brain is a heavy psychedelic rock quintet from Taipei, with an average age of 21. From the high-volume assault of noise rock and the sprawling architecture of post-rock to ferocious metal riffs — recording themselves from bedrooms and rehearsal rooms, they produce and release music entirely on their own terms. Heptaméron is Acid Brain's debut full-length album — a record built on shifting genres and instrumental layering, forging a musical language entirely the band's own. Mastered by renowned Japanese engineer Soichiro Nakamura, the album features collaborations with Austrian folk-in-space singer LILLIE CREATURES and Chinese experimental saxophonist Li Zenghui 李增輝 on two tracks, each adding a distinct new dimension to the whole. Through repetition and transformation — of style, of instrumentation, of texture — Heptaméron conjures a vivid fantasy world with the weight of myth. Nine tracks span drone, stoner, post-punk, chiptune, free jazz, and a three-act desert post-rock epic stretching sixteen minutes. Abyss I and II mirror each other as palindromes; "Maru" swells like the closing score of an end-of-world film; "Requiem" ends in the ferocity of saxophone and drums. Listeners are invited into a carefully constructed psychedelic landscape — through mansions, dungeons, and abysses — toward a musical and sensory experience that is unknown, mysterious, and boundless. Shawn Lee 李想 – acoustic guitar, electric guitar, flute, tin whistle, bass, synthesizer, samples, piano, strings, vocals (tracks 1–9) Eric Lai 賴慶禧 – electric guitar (tracks 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9); synthesizer (track 5) Chiayu Hsu 徐嘉佑 – electric guitar, acoustic guitar, synthesizer, samples, vocals (tracks 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9) Yilin Tsai 蔡易霖 – bass, vocals (tracks 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9) Isaac Jiang 江以撒 – drums, percussion (tracks 1–9) Additional Musicians: Isaac Xia 夏歆 – piano (track 3) Featuring Artists: LILLIE CREATURES – vocals (track 8) Li Zenghui 李增輝 – soprano, alto, baritone saxophone, vocals (track 9)
I'm in Pittsburg!
Sleepless and delirious. The floor was moving and waving at me in the greyhound station.
