Loving my new sweatshirt for the holiday season!
Yeah... I have a problem. (I’m almost out of space for more Animal Crossing stuff...)
On the next episode of Animal Crossing hoarders... Mayor Icee realizes she has a problem. And doesn’t care.
More from my obsessively large Animal Crossing collection... For other cool merch, check out my official merch and fan merch tags!
Holden, Fueki and Animal Crossing
With the Welcome Amiibo update, we saw a new special character emerge that was available only in Japan - Holden with his “Fueki” set.
So what is Fueki and why didn't the US get this furniture set and Holden?
Fueki is a glue company in Japan that has been around since since the late 1880s. "Fueki" was taken from a quote by a Chinese philosopher where "fueki" was used to mean "lasting for eternity."
The paste itself is a cornstarch glue which makes it both environmentally friendly, kid friendly, and a formula that will stand the test of time. Their current packaging has been in use since the 1970s which makes it very nostalgic and classic to many Japanese people (in much the same way as the design of Elmer's glue or Number 2 pencils!)
Holden is modeled after the company's mascot who's head creates the classic shape of their glue pot packaging.
As other countries can't really relate to these items or this company, Nintendo likely saw no purpose in making Holden available outside of the Japanese market.
This wasn't the only thing to come out of the partnership, however.
Fueki actually did release a set of special limited edition Animal Crossing glue pots as part of the collaboration as well!
THE MORE YOU KNOW! ミ★
I finally completed my Wild World alarm clock collection!
By some miracle, I was actually able to obtain my most coveted piece of Animal Crossing merchandise that has eluded me for over 5 years - a plush of my favorite villager, Vesta. NATURALLY, I had to make a shrine to her to thank the Animal Crossing gods. Featuring the Vesta Wild World plush, amiibo card, e-reader card, and a Perler bead Vesta gifted to me by my dear friend Hikari.
I'm making you look #gangsta #hahahaha #concert #merch #acmerch #aaroncarter #concerts #nightnumber2 PS: Carter, you're welcome.
