My lesbian shirt

Recently my uncle made fun of the button up flannel shirt I was wearing a few weeks ago and told me it looked like a “lesbian shirt” and that no guy would ever want to date me and while his homophobia really rubbed me the wrong way I couldn’t help but smile because that was the exact reason I got this shirt! Because it looks GAY AS FUUCCKKKKK and this dude doesn’t even know he just gave me the best compliment ever!

There is this girl in my class who is beautiful and smart and funny and we’ve been throwin some major vibes at each other. Since the first week of class we keep catching each other’s eye during the lecture and she smililes and blushes before we turn back to our notes.

She always sat a few seats away from me, never close enough for us to chat but after class she always lingered by my seat and talk while I packed up my laptop and give me the most adorable little drawings she had some in class. It is seriously the cutest thing ever it makes my heart melt and I’m always looking forward to our goofy chats.

This has been our routine all semester until last week when I come in to class, a little late as usual, to find her sitting right next to where always sit!

We have been sitting together all week and have been having the best time in class even the professors made a joke about how well we vibe together.

Ever time I catch her eye and she smiles or makes a goofy face at me it seriously makes my heart skip a beat. This girl is something special.

Now I just gotta work up the courage to ask her out...

Whether it’s getting down to party or advocating for their human rights, you know they gonna kill it.

Sapphic is such a gorgeous word. I feel like it is one of the few that truly decribes the beauty of two women in love.

I used to think I was a coward.

I pretended to be straight until I was 18 and everytime someone at my high school ‘came out’ I thought about how brave they were for living their authentic lives and I wondered why I was such a coward for pretending.

It wasn’t until I started hanging out with an Lgbt friendly group in college did I realize why I hadn’t come out before. Of course I had been scared, but I was no coward. I just wasn’t ready and that’s ok.

You don’t owe anyone an explanation as to when or why you disclose your sexuality. Wether it’s your first time telling someone or your hundredth time, you get to make that decision on your terms.

Your courage is not tied to “coming out of the closet” it is tied to your existence as a person. You are so strong and brave for simply being true to yourself and protecting your emotional and physical safety.

No matter where you are in your journey, just know that I am so pround of you and how far you have come!

I’m back bitches!!

Howdy friends I’m so sorry for going dark but I am happy to report I am back from my unscheduled hiatus! My phone went for a lil swim in the Atlantic about the time of the tumblr shutdown crisis and when I got a new phone I decided it was time to take a break from social media.

And while that was cool and all, I’m happy to be back and ready for the tea!
