Soft hands wrapped around his, no longer rough from combat training and life as a Star Pilot. Hands smooth like flower petals, still strong and firm.
The woman before him still grasped at faded memories weaving themselves back together after billions of years. But she remembered so much, feelings of happiness, friendship, safety. The warmest smile she could remember ever, the one that appeared in her mind when she needed comfort.
It had existed, and she’d found him. In this little room of elderly humans home. He looked so melancholy now, and it hurt. Her very core ached. She was as light as air, invisible to any but him. She floated in the space in front of him, hands wrapped around his.
She moved to float beside him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and engulfing Noah, the name she finally remembered, into a warm embrace. Dark hair a blanketing shield.
“I won’t leave you, I promise. Not now that I have found you.“

Noah let himself be enveloped, nor knowing if her presence was real or a dream. “I’m just glad you’re here… I missed you.” His voice was barely above a whisper, but his body relaxed in her embrace.
“I’ve missed you...“ she spoke softly, kissing his forehead. Tears stung her eyes, sleeping down her fair cheeks. Crystal clear with stardust.
“I’m so sorry... so sorry about everything... “ She couldn’t yet remember the last time she had seen him face to face, but she remembered how suddenly everything had ended. How her life had suddenly blinked out of existence and flung across the universe.
She had wanted to protect him, create a way to protect them all... and perhaps in a way the universe had granted her that wish. But right now, how she found him... it didn’t feel that way. He was afraid, and she didn’t know what to do about what afflicted him.
