my opinion on; @acosmiceve

character in general: callie motherfukin’ cartwig. ermagerd. listen, cece is a very important character to me, okay, and i will forever be sad they didn’t continue with her in the series. i think she would have been a huge asset to the storyline, especially for the adults. i mean, i get they were trying to consolidate and that budget is a thing, but lord almighty i miss that woman. abby’s needed a best friend so much over the course of the series and i think it would have added such a great dynamic. to see how callie grew and changed, to see how it would affect what turned into kabby, and basically minor differences in all the storylines ( like imagine abby having someone to talk to after clarke leaves ! )…it all would have been so good. plus kelly hu is a bae and i’m forever sad we were robbed of more of her and paige on screen together.how they play them: ffffffffff pardon me whilst i squee a little ( or a lot really ). it’s super hard to rp a character with such little screentime, but man does jude nail it. seriously, this callie is exactly how i imagine her had she continued on to be in the series. i wish jude had been in the writers room when they were making decisions about cece because then the magical space aunt would have gotten the story she deserved. just…ugh. perfection doesn’t even begin to describe it.the mun: basically, i really just wanna be bffs with you and jude but i am a potato and don’t know how to say hi XD. every tag conversation we’ve had has been fun and adorable and basically jude is the sweetest.

       their conversation has been simple--- the same lines repeated, over and over, with sometimes the occasional experimentation with words that were not put together in text--- but rinnah has thoroughly enjoyed herself. she’s wanted for years to understand the language that her people had spoken on the ground, that had somehow died among the english that was now spread throughout the ark. her parents understood some, but only very little, and she’d clung to every word. she does the same now, clinging to each new word that comes from callie’s books, and from her lips.

       she’s parted her own lips to repeat callie’s phrase in practice when she hears a new one, and her cheeks burn as her soft lips curl into an almost shy smile. it’s different when her husband compliments her--- calls her beautiful, clever, wonderful--- it’s entirely different when her friend, her mentor, calls her charming. it’s unexpected, to say the least. “je vous remercie,” she responds, just in time to feel the older woman’s lips against her own.  

       her heart thrums quickly within her throat and a quiet gasp gets caught with it. large blue eyes search callie’s face, pleading for some kind of escape, and then she feels callie melting into it, lips pressing harder against her own. a quiet whimper of a moan leaves her throat and she reaches up to press delicate, trembling fingers to her friend’s face, very gently pushing at her jaw to break the kiss.

                       “i... callie, i can’t---”

       murphy’s bored gaze lifts to the woman who’d given the announcement, and he gives her a slow, sarcastic smile.

                     “---how much of that was the truth, huh?”

       abby had been so WORRIED. as cmo of the ark, she’d had to treat her fair share of friends and family. they tried to avoid it for the sake of conflict of interest, but they only had so many hands and so much time. when they’d brought callie in earlier, she’d been in rough shape. a quick dose of anti-biotics and a very attentive physician meant that her recovery was as fast as it could be, but abby didn’t want her friend pushing herself.

       when she felt callie’s arms around her, she quickly MELTED into the embrace. it was intimate, more intimate than their touching normally was, but abby didn’t particularly mind. instead, she just held the woman closer, one hand going to the back of her head to keep her there. having her in her arms told abby that she was okay, recovering, alive. the thought of losing her...god it frightened her. she needed her best friend, now more than ever. 

      when cece’s lips brushed her pulse point, abby’s skin lit on FIRE. goosebumps welled up on the flesh and the hand on the small of callie’s back pushed her just a little closer. ❝ cece, ❞ she breathed, ❝ please just...let me take care of you. let me be with you. FOR ME if not for yourself. ❞

       “---callie?!” rinnah’s steps are quick as she crosses the creek to get to her friend, and she drops down on her knees to touch the woman’s throat so that she can make sure her heart is still beating. as soon as she confirms that callie is alive, she splashes cool water onto her face, trying to wake her. there’s no way she can carry her back on her own.

                  “callie, please, we’ve got to hurry. wake up.”
