I miss when I'd have my brother on the playground with me and sometimes when I was having a morning where I didn't feel like going to school he'd swipe my favorite stuffed animal from my room and then give it to me during recess to cheer me up. It was the actual foolproof way to cheer me up no matter what was going on.

Dear Person I Had a Crush On,
I'm kind of sad it never worked out between us. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't really think about it that often or get hung up on it, but whenever you pop up in my life I always think, "Man, we would have been great." And who knows? Maybe the timing will be right in the future, but it certainly isn't now and that's totally okay. I just am so proud of how you've grown up and I'm glad I've been able to witness it. You are such a remarkable person and you are going to do so many great things. Your optimism is inspiring and I live for your laugh. Being your friend is a joy and if that's all we're ever gonna be, I am more than alright with that. It's weird as heck having this stagnant crush on you that doesn't really consume my thoughts unless I'm reminded of you but I honestly just appreciate you for who you are. No matter what becomes of us.
