Anniversary Gala. May 2nd
It was an understatement that the evening was bittersweet. It was the third year the Ministry had displayed their kindness in such a grand way, but Luna believed the kindness was just a front. She couldn’t stay home and disrespect the ones that had been lost during the battle and it was reassuring that her friends would be there. It was the sole reason she pushed herself to go in hopes that she could get through the night without thinking about the past too much between the speeches and the tales of the battle. Her father had asked her to interview people for the newest edition of the Quibbler, but even Luna knew a grieving place like the anniversary of the battles wasn’t the proper setting stage for tonight.
Instead, Luna stayed close to the table of foods, enjoying the range of desserts from small meringues to toffee pudding. This served as a nice break from her work and she was ecstatic to see her friends. When she heard the echos from the band on stage she tilted her head in recognition, thinking she saw them on the cover of Witch Weekly not too long ago. “It’s all a bit too much, isn’t it?” Luna asked aloud, her gaze staring straight before bringing her attention to the person beside her. “I’m quite looking forward to the speeches this year. Do you plan on talking? I did the first year, but I don’t think there’s enough words to say in such a short time about it all.”
