Hi! I’m wondering if you could analyse this wand. A very unusual one… more of an experiment if anything: Yew wood stained in Basilisk blood, thestral hair and acromantula web dual core, 13.5 inches, reasonably supple.
Thanks!
wow! This really is a unique wand! and a fun and interesting experiment.
Let’s assume this wand is able to work together, all four components are able to get along and are harmonious. A difficult task with just wood and a single core- I’ve been doing this for years and sometimes the two will not get along due to any number of variables. I can make the same yew wand with the same thestral’s tail hair five times, and get five different wands.
I’ve never bathed a wand in a magical substance- and now i’m excited to see the results in some experiments. I assume it would suppress the wood’s natural personality- it’s own magical properties and introduce the creature’s into the equation.
But, back to your question.
At first glance, the wand has a strong theme of death.
Thestrals hair is self explanatory. The beast itself is heavily associated with death.
Acromantula web is an interesting one, an extremely sticky and strong string that will entrap the most ferocious beast- making them a sitting duck for the giant spider.
Yew wood is poisonous, and the addition of basilisk blood only adds to that fact. Basilisk blood is not the most poisonous part of the beast, of course, but it does make those who ingest it violent and bloodthirsty (no pun intended.)
I can’t see a scenario of this wand working harmoniously together. Fighting itself from the inside out. It’s all because of this simple fact: Acromantulas are terrified of Basilisks.
I understand the web is not the spider, but it is produced and created using the magical essence of the spider. Making the webbing absorbent of it’s creator’s personality.
The cores itself could work together. Thestral hair will work well with the webbing’s steadyfast reliability. It’s use for death would not discourage the thestral in any way.
But, for fun, let's assume this wand does work. I can always be wrong with my hypothesis. It would make a very quick-to-judge wand. Acting out and doing things on its own would be a common occurrence. It might disagree with itself and produce unpredictable results- as any dual-core wand does. This one is more than usual.
Of course, with a duo wand cores- this wand would be a beast. I wouldn’t want to face it in a duel.
