Silver Aspen
(acronychia wilcoxiana)
Also known as mushyberry
Not to be confused with lemon aspen (acronychia acidula)
Endemic to eastern Australia, this ridged tiny berry is favoured by wompoo fruit doves but also edible for humans. The crispy, juicy fruits have a tart, zingy lemon flavour and can be used to make jams, salad dressing or even sorbet!
Have you eaten a silver aspen?
Yes
