Not to be confused with lemon aspen (acronychia acidula)

Endemic to eastern Australia, this ridged tiny berry is favoured by wompoo fruit doves but also edible for humans. The crispy, juicy fruits have a tart, zingy lemon flavour and can be used to make jams, salad dressing or even sorbet!

Acid Berry

(acronychia aberrans)

A relative of the lemon aspen fruit (acronychia acidula), the acid berry is a little bit larger and doesn't have the indents that most of its siblings have. There isn't a whole lot of information to be found on this species, but I imagine it to have a lemony aroma with a strong, acidic flavour since practically every member of acronychia has that, though in varying degrees.
