Oh boy.
Your hand disappeared in his as he squeezed back, thumb stroking your skin, heart hurting with every beat. You timidly peeked at his face, catching him looking at you fondly, his eyes carrying so many unspoken words, taking your breath away.
“You are staring at me like you did at the pie this morning. You gonna eat me too?” you tried to joke.
His eyes grew wide and dark. “I don’t think you meant that the way I hope you do”.
It took you a moment to realize.
“Oh my God! “ you groaned, covering your eyes. “Sometimes I forget about this language barrier thing”. Dean’s other hand took the one that hid your face, lowering it over your joined ones in your lap. His face grew serious, his eyes darting low as you unconsciously licked your lips.
You felt it.
The moment with a capital T and, sure Dean will be gone by tomorrow but here, right now, you could have this, you wanted this piece of happiness.
You closed your eyes and lowered your walls.
When her hand sneaked in his, it was not just an innocent, friendly hand squeeze. No, it was palm to palm, fingers among fingers. Her hand was almost engulfed in his. Such a tiny hand. His index finger grazed the inside of her wrist softly and smiled when he saw a worn-out friendship bracelet around it. Focusing his eyes on her face, his heart couldn’t help but squeeze. Her hair messy, strands had escaped the loose braid framing her face. Some clung to the damp skin on her neck where he could see the fast pulse, her chest rising and falling after the quick sprint she took. Other images passed through his mind in which he could make her breathe like t-
“You are staring at me like you did at the pie from this morning. You gonna eat me too?”
Son of a bitch! Did she really say that?
He looked at her face, no trace of flirtation. She officially wanted him dead. However, just to be sure…
“I don’t think you meant that the way I hope you do”
Dean saw her hand almost smacking her blushing face after she realized what she had said. He knew she wasn’t that innocent but damn these kinds of missteps were going to be the end of him. Whatever came out of that mouth, she would still look like the girl next door that baked you a welcome-to-the-neighborhood-pie. He scolded himself mentally when, again, his imagination went wild.
Not the time Winchester!.
He reached, wanting to see her face. Her eyes were still a bit wet, eyelashes spiky and dark, cheeks and nose red and her lips plump from her habit of chewing on them. Then he felt it.
There was no need for other words. He watched carefully. Even in that fleeting moment, he saw her almost surrendering herself. Almost letting a small part of the wall surrounding her heart chip away and give him a way in. He watches her eyes as they slowly closed, her eyelashes glistening.
He cupped her face and dipped his head.
“Dean!”
Both pairs of eyes flew open and startled you pushed Dean away from you. Sam’s voice ripping you from your little bubble.
Dean’s head fell on his chest with an annoyed groan.
“Sam…timing!”, he snarled at his brother who was walking fast towards you, followed by your friend and carrying some stuff. Sam looked at how you were covering your face, avoiding his gaze. He shifted awkwardly.
“Um…sorry? But it’s Jack”
“What happened?” Dean said with urgency, standing up.
“He found a case and went alone “
“What the hell? What do you mean ‘went’ ?”
“He just….took off”
“Son of a bitch,” Dean said, a hand combing nervously through his hair. “Wasn’t Cass supposed to keep an eye on him?”
“I guess he fle- moved fast,” Sam said eyeing Y/F/N.
“Anyway... Cass said he’ll come and get us as soon as we are ready”, he said sneaking a glance at you.
Time’s over.
“You should go now, then,” you said and they both looked at you. Sam in an apologetic gaze and Dean with a conflicted and annoyed expression.
“Y/N…” He began.
“No! I mean it guys! I think the antich- err Jack being out, alone is urgent business…besides, I have your numbers. We’ll keep in touch...” you began to walk back and you slammed against your friend. She pushed the bundle she had in her arms to your chest.
“Wha-“ you recognized your purse and coat.
“Your shift finished. You can go. I’ll cover the rest”
You tried to protest but she shushed you. “Spend the rest of the night with your friends, yeah?” She was already walking back when she turned around.“Ya own me one!!”
The ride to the motel was quick.
You chewed on your thumbnail, looking outside, while Sam and Dean conjectured about the Nephilim’s whereabouts.
“I swear!! That kid, day by day is starting to resemble his other Dad”
“Yeah!! Cass on steroids” said Dean.
“I’m sure he is fine”
Sam stole a glance at you. “Besides…he’s better now “
“Still the frigging antichrist”
“Y/N!”
You didn’t hear Sam, lost in your thoughts “Y/N!”
“UH? Y-yes what is it?”
“Once we are gone, can you return the car for us ? I guess you don’t have a ride back home tonight, right?”
You hadn't thought of that.
“Right. Yeah, yeah! I can do that”.
Your gaze returned to the night lights outside the car window lost in thoughts and didn’t catch Dean staring at you in the side mirror.
Watching as the light of the lamp posts danced on your features.
You were sitting on the bed; legs crossed watching the Winchesters packing frantically.
“Is this one of the ‘let’s go and save the world’ thing? Should I go and…uh, I don’t know…confess before …”
“What? No!!” said both at the same time.
“Oh! So it’s like, rebel teen flies from home and dad and uncles freak out”
“I’m no uncle!” Sam and Dean said, again at the same time.
You chuckled. “I’m messing with you, relax. I’m a bit sad that you’re leaving. It’s been nice having you here”
“Yeah”
They both looked at each other.
“Bitch!”
“Jerk!”
“That…”, you smiled. “...that is what I’ll miss the most “
“Ok! Packing is done! Dean, pray!”
“Why do I always have to do this?”
Sam opened his mouth smugly.
“Don’t!” Dean interrupted him waving his hand.
You perched on the edge of the bed eager to witness this. Dean peered at you and cleared his throat and then closed his eyes furrowing his brows, rubbing his hands together.
“Dear Castiel and his dorky feathery ass. We are ready and waiting for the angel uber”. You snorted, while you heard the now usual wings swoosh.
“Dean, your prayers are becoming more and m-”
The angel’s gaze fell on you waving at him and looked at Dean offended. “You didn’t tell me Y/N was here,” he said, sounding embarrassed.
Jumping off the bed, you walked to Castiel, drying your eyes “Hello Cass”
“Hello Y/N”
“Do I have to pray like Dean if I need you in the future?” Dean looked at you surprised.
“Why would you need to-“
“Yes Y/N. I’ll hear you. Though, I would suggest rephrasing“
“Aaah! This is exciting!! I have an angel on speed pray”
“I also have a mobile phone, you know,” he said taking it out and wiggling it at you.
“Ok, Cass! I guess it’s time to go” Sam broke the happy bubble, the brothers picking up their stuff.
Your gaze fell inevitably on Dean. You locked eyes and so many things passed between you two.
Sam and Castiel exchanged a look.
“Well, guys! I guess this is it” you said smiling bitterly.“This was fun and thank you for everything”
They smiled warmly at you, except Dean whose smile mirrored yours.
You waited for them to disappear.
‘Come on before I cry in front of you all’ you thought.
Instead, you saw Castiel turning his head to Dean and tilting it, Dean’s face stoic but eyeing him.
The angel nodded and smiled at you as Sam waved before disappearing in a flutter of wings.
However, Dean was still there.
“Wh-“
“I asked Cass to give me some time”
You opened your mouth but he continued. “I still have something I want to make clear”
“About…?” you asked nervously.
“About what you are going to do”
“Oh…?”
He walked to you raising his finger sternly.
“You have to promise! Promise me that you’ll first finish what you are doing now, with college and stuff”
“… I promise”, you said confused looking at his finger before raising your eyes to look at his. “But you can’t tell me what to do after that,” you said serious.
“I know I can’t, and I’ll go crazy knowing that you’ll probably do whatever the hell you want. So please, at least don’t do it alone. Tell me you will first find the Men of Letters”
“I definitely can't do field stuff alone Dean! Do you think I’ll dive into the hunting life like this? I’ll probably just nerd around books and gross monsters guts”
“That’s my girl!”, he said ruffling your head.
Silence fell between you too. You fidgeted with your braid, while he looked at his watch.
“So…when is he going to come back?”, you asked to break the silence.
“Any minute now, I think,” he said looking at his watch.
“Oh”
“Yep”
This fucking, awkward silence again. Your head buzzed and your heartbeat was in your ears, every time you wanted to do or say something.
And you tried, you tried so hard, but you just couldn't move. Like something was blocking you and all your body screamed to give you courage but your mind just wouldn’t connect with your mouth?
Being on the verge of this cliff, you knew you just needed a little push, but it’s that push that’s missing. So you stayed like this, torn between wanting something so bad that it hurts and doing nothing about it because your mind was going crazy, bombarding you with ten different scenarios of how things could go down.
Plus, the imminent arrival of the angel made you more desperate to just... fucking unblock.
Wait…he was leaving, you knew he was. You literally had nothing to lose.
You know what? Fuck it, fuck it!
Closing the distance between you two, you slipped a hand behind his neck for leverage and standing on your tiptoes you kissed him.
His lips were soft and molded perfectly over yours, and after the first moment of, you felt them melting against yours.
It took Dean a second to re-function after the initial shock. When your hand went to his neck, he thought that maybe he had a loose thread or something. Instead, he saw your face inches from his and he didn’t have time to process what was happening. When your lips touched his, he felt himself sucking in his breath. He slightly dipped down to make it easier for you to reach him and pressed a hand on your back, to bring you closer.
You felt his warm hand on your lower back as it pressed your body against his, his strong arms around you, your hands pressed against his firm chest, and a whiny sigh escaped. You opened your lips, as your body decided it needed more.
Dean lost it. He moaned and grabbed your shoulders, pushing you against the wall. His thigh parted your legs and pushed you up. You deepened the kiss, only teasing his tongue with yours. He whimpered when you retreated your mouth and he followed you and you definitely let him.
Best decision ever, honestly!! That man could kiss!
“Ah…Dean”, you whispered like a person completely drunk by that kiss. Your hands slid down to your side, searching for something to hold on to but you couldn’t find anything so you just gripped his belt bringing him to you, making him grind against you. He cursed and broke the kiss, laying his forehead on your shoulder, his hot elaborate breath lapping at your neck, his forearms against the wall on either side of your head, trapping you. Not that you were going anywhere, let’s be real.
You dipped your head, nibbling at his earlobe gently, while your hips rolled against his. His hands closed in fists and slammed down on the wall.
You let go, startled.
Dean lifted his head to look at you and what he saw made him weak. You panting, just as he fantasized, eyes glazed and dark with desire, flushed in all the right places and he wanted to take his time to see which other parts of you could blush just like that. But time was something neither of you had.
His hands gripped your hips, fingers dipping into your skin almost painfully as his thigh pushed up again and you moaned, arching into him. Arms around his neck, your head rolled back giving him access to your neck which he was more than happy to explore. Slipping your hands in his, you dragged them under your tights. He squeezed and lifted you, helping you wrap your legs around him. You both groaned when you felt his arousal pushing against you. His hand was in your hair again, working wonders and tugging, making you whimper in his mouth with every angle he guided your head, your back scratched the wall as your hands clutched his shirt, desperate to keep yourself grounded on this planet.
You pushed back his head in order to breathe and to look at him and God what a vision! Your hands had masterfully messed up his short hair and his lips were plump and parted. His warm, labored breath and his semi-closed eyes made you regret that you had no time to see how much more you could make him fall apart. Lifting a hand to cup his cheek, you grazed his skin, to remember every single, little freckle that was scattered across his face. His short beard scraped the over sensitive skin of your palm and fingertips and you shivered. Caressing his lips with your thumb you licked them and pulled him to you again. This time you kissed him slowly as if to burn this moment in your memory.
Dean seemed to do the same, letting you slip down; his hand cupped your face, changing your angle, and he kissed you back as deeply. The kiss grew from desperate to sweet, to just tiny pecks until you just looked into each other, leaning your foreheads together, your nose slightly stroking his.
He hummed, the passion still there but knowing that Cass could appear at any given moment you knew you should stop there before making an angel really uncomfortable.
It’s okay, this had been the best make-out session of your life.
Dean laughed. “You are very welcome”.
“I said that aloud, didn’t I?”
You stepped out of his embrace slowly, tidying yourself a bit, undoing what was left of your braid. You walked to the bed sitting down, and he followed you.
“I…..if we had more time-”, he began, but you shut him up with another deep kiss.
“It’s okay” you said, stroking his jaw with your fingertips.
He squeezed your hand, searching your eyes with his and you got lost in that green forest.
“Don’t…don’t do anything stupid”, he whispered.
You held his gaze, “don’t die…again”
You both chuckled “I’m sorry. I don’t want to be sappy, but I am”
“Well, this doesn’t need to be a goodbye” he smiled, his eyes crinkling.
“No, you are just an ocean away” you smiled back.
A fluttering of wings marked the end of your little moment.
You both stood up to greet the angel.
“Y/N” he nodded at you.
“Dean are you ready?”
Dean bent down to pick up his duffel bag; throwing it on his shoulder, he put a hand on the angel’s shoulder.
Your eyes locked together one last time.
A lopsided smile.
He winked at you and in a blink of your eyes, he was gone.

.
a year later…
“Y/N time for the group photos, let go of the bottle!”
“Coming bitches!”
You walked unstably on your heels, adjusting your laurel wreath on your head and stood between all your friends smiling at the camera.
“So what’s next?” Y/F/N asked from behind you, while you posed.
“Uh?”
“You’ve already sent your curriculum right?”
“Nope” you turned to grab the bouquet from your mum.
“What? Why?” Y/F/N asked, posing with you kissing her cheek.
“I have other plans for now”
You passed the flowers to her and your eyes fell to the tattoo on your inner forearm, fingers lightly stroking it.
“I’m going to take a sabbatical, traveling “
“Nice, where?”
You spun around to look at her, a stupid smile on your face.
