#action accents

Given how much I love Barbie items which are unnecessary tiny items, I'm a little surprised I haven't talked about Action Accents.

Action Accents were a series of individually released props for Barbie - things like tape decks, mixers, sewing machines, and other assorted props and appliances. One reason I am not the biggest fan of this one in particular is because other similar releases of small Barbie props at least contained a variety of props around a theme - Action Accents were only one toy at a time.

But that being said, there is something deeply charming about them, because of how they've aged. Barbie's stereo has a record player, and not just to be quaint. Her personal computer is a chunky plastic box.

But I should give a little more credit to these - they are solo items where I wish they were more, but they were called "action" accents for a reason - they all moved!

They all had some kind of wind-up functionality. I like the picture on the mixer because Barbie seems to be staring at it like this:

Ever heard of Barbie Magic Moves ? There were these toys that are mini appliances and electronics with these wind up things on the side and when you turn them, they function in a way that seem like the appliances and electronics in miniature form

I hadn't; but when I googled them I realised a lot of them looked familiar, so obviously I had and just didn't store the name of the line in my memory.

I love these, actually. They fill me with a strange kind of delight.

My favourites are the most normal ones. There's ones in the line like gumball machines, and popcorn makers, but the more mundane they are the more they fill me with joy.

My favourite is the similar line, "Action Accents" Personal Computer. It looks so ridiculous but I love it.
