Dandelion Adventure, were, according to the Bandcamp sidestrip, "one of the greatest underground bands to emerge from Lancashire in the late 80s." The sidestrip continues by comparing them to The Fall and stating that they would have made Captain Beefheart proud.
All I can say, is that this is fun, yet experimental. I can't help but think of Scotland - Fire Engines, and Nectarine no. 9. And while Dandelion Adventure aren't Scottish, "Puppy Shrine" was produced by Andy Moor (Dog Faced Hermans) who was from Edinburgh at the time.
While making the album, they "slept at Chumbawamba's communal house in Leeds and they fed and watered us." Looks like I need to give Chumbawamba a chance.
You can find physical copies of "Puppy Shrine" (released on Action Records) on Bandcamp for reasonable prices. More recently Dandelion Adventure bassist Ajay Saggar (Bhajan Bhoy) released a John Peel session LP on his Wormer Bros. Records label
