#Repost @illnomadic | #respect ・・・ Our first #Soundshop of the year was monumental. The energy and focus of all the students, teachers, artists, and museum staff was ultra positive and elevated. I feel so privileged to do this work and have opportunities to interact with youth on a creative conscious level. Our theme was of identity and representation. As artists we define ourselves, bringing attributes to the surface to represent and embody our true selves for the world to see. In honestly doing so we define not only our reality but the reality of our peers and community. We had students from Farrington and Waianae High school in two separate workshops on the same day exploring these ideas through individual and collaborative work. We explored the Body of Work exhibition and the Arts of Hawaii gallery with the help of the amazing @healohajohnston who graciously lended her time and led our students on a super informative tour. We were also so honored to have incredible guest artists @fyahempressstone @_fyahboss and AK repping their @fyah_island_family to the fullest sharing music, wisdom, and real relevant truth with us. They embody the concept of 'walk your talk' 🔥 They really added a lot to this experience and we look forward to working with them as much as we can! Mahalo!!
