Support Youth Organizations with Great Causes Part 1
HERstory Philippines is a DepEd adopt-a-school program dedicated to empowering under-resourced Filipinas through literacy and sexual health education.
HERstory was founded by a team of passionate students who aim to empower young Filipinas. To achieve this, they offer lessons to under-resourced Filipinas to help equip them with the literacy and sexual health education that would hopefully empower them and help with their futures.
Currently, HERstory caters to girls through cycles of 15 girls at a time, occasionally sharing the pieces from these girls that document their experiences through these cycles. The organization also offer panels for female empowerment, interviews with strong women who can help inspire young girls, and they’ve recently launched @period.herstory where they work with other NGOs to end period poverty and stigma through service, education, and advocacy.
By January 23, 2020 they were awarded a place in DepEd’s Adopt-A-School Program which recognized the organization as an official stakeholder of K-12 education in the Philippines.
