This 12-book anthology, full of writing prompts and activities, uses poetry to tell the story of a diverse group of kids who are dedicated to social justice, and more specifically, the war against hunger. As readers follow the story of this ambitious group, they are encouraged to reflect on, and write about, their own stories. 

Also, in the backs of the books, there are loads of resources for young readers, writers, and activists, which is an attractive bonus for any educator operating in our current political climate.

I see this as a marvelous opportunity to inspire active youth.
