Some odd sun in an even weirder solar system had cropped up a weird solar flare that messed with the sensitive calibrations of every single biobed in med bay, leaving one Leonard McCoy on the brink of a nervous breakdown until Scotty had shown up and quite literally saved the day. Whatever planet Jim had sent the crew on had infected one of the members from the party, and from there it had made a awful virus break out on the ship. So having med bay not only be over-capacity with malfunctioning equipment, along with foriegn virus — it was something Leonard could not handle — but the Scotsman had fixed it in a matter of hours.
So in a mix of sleep-deprived, brink of a mental breakdown delirium, when Scotty came to Leo announcing that reports were back to normal, Leonard saw an angel sent from heaven. In a fell swoop, the doctor had grabbed Scotty’s face and planted a grateful kiss square on the Scotsman’s mouth, thanking him for his service before rushing back into the chaos that had consumed his med bay. Leonard didn’t even think about his actions until after he’d gotten some actual rest and had shrugged it off, the shock gone before it could even start.
