One of the only productive things I did yesterday was film this clip. One take full on yeeted my phone halfway across my garage. 🤣
Can't wait to see the whole thing put together.

Worked on stage combat basics at yesterday’s rehearsal. Definitely want to amp up both the skill and comedy levels of our fights this year and we’re going to tap some of my fellow actor- combatant co-workers’ talents to do so. But first we gotta drill the basics and get solid.
It's been a rough week, so here's me clawing @thatseanguyblogs 's eye out at the A-town Throw Down 2 years ago. 🙃
Combat Character - Eir
This was literally the last fight character I was able to play before the Pandemic shut down the world. Since stage combat - especially what my team does - is so up close and personal, we made the right decision to close down our show until such time we could guarantee the safety of our cast, crew, and audience. This was a Fantasy year, pitting ancient Norse gods against the mythological heroes, rulers, and monsters of other ancient cultures. This was the year I played the valkyrie, Eir, the Weeping Warrior and Guardian of the Worthy. Our director had a strict edict this year that Valkyries could be feminine presenting or non-binary, so Eir is they/them. This show was incredibly special to me because it was the year my team gifted me my own sword, Worthy. It was also the first year I fought Sword and Shield, which is one of my preferred weapon styles now. I'm incredibly proud of this character and this show.
I really want to be a superhero, but fight co-ordinator is definitely the next best thing. I love acting, performing, and fighting on camera and stage. This is just a little sample of what, I’ve been up to. Website: siegeblog.com

I MISS FIGHTING PEOPLE FOR FUN.
On a related note...
(to my last post)
I went to my first stage combat class of the semester today and found out that at the end of the year I will have 5 certifications (with the SAFD - Society of American Fight Directors), 10 if I send a vid to the BASSC (British Academy of Stage and Screen) as well!
I already have a recommended pass in rapier and dagger and will be adding:
Broad sword
Short sword
Unarmed combat
Knife
I'm pretty stoked. Today we started with rolls and flips, which was both fun and ridiculous. Imagine a class of over 20 goofy actors in sweatpants all repeatedly flipping themselves over on the floor like floppy bacon.
I may post a video of me practicing... it's pretty stupid looking in slow mo, but it's a great skill for fights.
