Vmin Throwback: Two Guys With Problems
For new ARMYs or fans of Vmin, let me have the pleasure of introducing you to the legendary hot mess that is the mini-drama “Two Guys with Problems” which was written, directed, and starred in by none other than Park Jimin and Kim Taehyung.
The premise of the drama is simple: Vmin play two guys in a relationship who decide to break up. I’m not joking. And...that’s the entire plot.
In any case, this goofy gem is a wonderful moment of Vmin making their own ship sail at full mast.
Some background on this ridiculous yet unparalleled Vmin canonical masterpiece:
1) It originally appears on the BTS Memories of 2015 DVD.
2) Vmin filmed this in a hotel room sometime during The Red Bullet Tour which took place in 2014 and 2015. This was before Big Hit could afford to give each of the BTS members their own hotel room while on tour, so at the time, the boys usually had to share a room with another member. The creation of this video is obviously a result of how Vmin chose to pass their downtime together as roomies 😂😂😂.
3) In 2015, the members of BTS were not the millionaires they are today--and in fact, back then Jungkook was the only BTS member who owned a personal computer. Thus Vmin shot and edited this piece of silliness entirely on their iPhones. In order for them to share it with us, they used their agency’s camera to film their cellphones playing their mini-drama. (You’ll see Jimin and Taehyung’s hands moving around their phones in the clip).
4) This was filmed before Taehyung made his official acting debut in Hwarang a couple years later. Before that time, all the members said Taehyung used to make up silly scenarios he would act out as ‘practice’ for his dream of someday debuting as a ‘real’ actor...and often Jimin would join in his soulmate’s silliness. This is one of the only silly skits the two actually put on film and shared with us (and ARMYs are forever grateful)! 💜
5) Fun fact: the dramatic background music during Taehyung’s screentime is actually the Greek national anthem. I’m not sure if Vmin knew that when they chose to use it, but it sure made Greek ARMYs happy lol.
6) The two main characters in the drama, or the two titular guys with problems, are named Tae Tae and Chim Chim (those names being, of course, Vmin’s nicknames for each other in real life...hohoho).
7) The acting is hilarious, and Taehyung’s internal monologue voice-overs here are iconic. ICONIC.
8) Let’s be real: you have to be totally comfortable with someone in order to film something about two guys in a relationship, especially considering Korean conservative society. Vmin are truly #soulmategoals.
