You cannot convince me that IDW's characterization of Zilla isn't basically the dog from Over the Hedge in that he seems to misinterpret every interaction as a chance to play.

Look at how he even started pouting when he thought he'd lost his new friend. And then when his new friend surprises him his eyes are full of delight and meanwhile Godzilla's eyes just say murder because in comparison Zilla is the hyperactive puppy that won't leave Godzilla alone.
