#actual animatronics

Wicked Makers released this video 4 months ago of them making an actual Springtrap animatronic. There is even a surprise mention of Da Regular Sauce! (You know, that one Springtrap and Glamrock Freddy cosplayer? Yeah, him!) I don't know about you, but I think Wicked Makers did a damn good job here.

I am almost as much into real animatronics as I am into FNAF animatronics. I have very strong feelings about Chuck E. Cheese and Concept Unification (negative ones). I also have very strong feelings about how they made a cigar-smoking rat into a milquetoast mouse kid (also negative ones). And my feelings about Chuck E Cheese getting rid of their animatronics altogether? OMG YOU DON'T EVEN WANNA KNOW

though i'll be honest i'm not an expert on any of it i'm just??? passionate??? little disclaimer

speaking of chuck e cheese, here's an animatronic story.

our chuck e cheese only has the one robot, with a blue screen and tv setup next to him.  my nieces wanted to dance in front of the blue screen, but they were nervous about standing next to the robot. so i went with them.

quick aside: the official chuck e cheese camera makes me look five times my weight.  hkgjfdg.

anyway, i looked away for a little bit to see where my mom and sister were, and when i looked back my nieces were creeping up on the animatronic like cats sneaking up on a squirrel.  chuck e was looking away as they approached, but as soon as they were close enough to his stage, he whirled his head around and glared at them like an angry owl.  of course it wasnt anything personal, it was just all in the timing of his programming.

but you know how if you touch a cat that's focused on something, they jump ten feet in the air and run?  that's what my nieces did.

and thats the story of my first experience with an animatronic.

i know that theres pics of most of the rockafire explosion's endoskeletons floating around on the internet, but is there one of rolfe dewolfe?

cuz i googled it and its mostly coming up with mangle.

i wanted to see for myself how weird a robot with a mouth for a hand would look.

The ventriloquist dummy is Earl Schmerle and the wolf is Rolfe DeWolfe! (Sorry huge RAE nerd over here~)

oh THATS what he was saying!  thanks for clearing it up, i was having trouble making it out.  ^^;

RAE is pretty fascinating, wish i’d been able to see them in person as a wee youngin.  guess i need to be content with our local sad-lookin chuck e bot.
