So I crashed my car into a tree Saturday on my way to a friend's wedding while trying to avoid the guy who left turned in front of me while I was driving straight and had the right of way. I narrowly avoided crashing head on with him, and when I swerved to avoid him, I almost hit the thick stone wall next to the tree. All my airbags went off and I got some bad bruises and scrapes. I had had a box of pumpkins in my trunk but the seat was down so when I impacted with the tree, most of them smashed in my backseat but one flew all the way into the front seat and hit me. My driver door was jammed so I crawled across the passenger seat and fell out of the car.
A bunch of people from the neighborhood came to help, bringing me water and a chair and calling 911. And getting my sweater from the car. A witness stayed on the scene to give her statement about the crash. My seatbelt cut my dress open so when firefighters got there my chest was popping out for everyone to see 🥴 which was embarrassing.
The pain didn't start immediately (I was in too much shock) but I'm really hurting now a few days later.
I've had the support of my partners and family and have been in good hands while I recover but I'm still really sad about my car and missing the wedding.
