As a decade will soon come to a close…reflecting back on what life has brought over the last ten years. Other than birds, islands have held a particular significance. As the saying goes, "You can take the girl out of the island, but you can never take the island out of the girl…" Cannot believe it has been 10 years since I took my first big leap & moved to O'ahu, Hawai'i…such fond memories of my kama'aina days, & the nomadic/chronic relocation habit has continued quite a bit since! #Hawaii #islandlife #luckywelivehawaii #ActuallyAMermaid 1⃣ The two mokuluas/mokes offshore from Makapu'u/Waimanalo, Mānana/Rabbit Island (larger) & Kaohikaʻipu/Black Rock Island (smaller). 2⃣ The view from our flat in Hawai'i Kai. 3⃣ Waimānalo beach & a portion of the Ko'olau mountain range. 4⃣ "Turtle Island," which is actually the Ulupa'u Crater & Mōkapu Point on a peninsula, plus the Mokumanu islets near Kāneʻohe, windward/east coast of O'ahu. 5⃣ Olamana Ahiki/Third & Paku'i/Second Peaks. 6⃣ Kahe Point/Electric Beach, on the leeward/west Coast of O'ahu. 7⃣ One of my favourite sunset spots, the Portlock Spitting Cave. 8⃣ Lēʻahi/Diamond Head crater from Waikiki beach. 9⃣ Whatever you call it…Hālona/Cockroach Cove or Eternity/Secret/Lover's/The Cliffs Beach, along Kalanianaʻole Highway is a relatively hidden gem. 1⃣0⃣ Wailuku River, Hilo region, Big Island.
