some of the nastiest and most insidious ableism i’ve dealt with has come from people with ADHD, autistic people, other neurodivergent people.
and there’s literally no way to talk about it because the default response will always be treating it like a joke and laughing at you for thinking THEY could possibly be ABLEIST and to silence you through any means possible. there have been countless ableist posts that i have seen circulate through the most “progressive” groups and it often becomes a trend of seeing anyone calling these out as BEING ableist to get harassed, suicide baited, and chased off of social media with a wild fervor. i do not feel safe in my own community because of just how widespread it is for people to be ableist towards anyone with a less “acceptable” disability.
you are not immune from perpetrating ableism, and you sincerely need to look at yourself and remove ableist rhetoric and thought and behavior, especially against people who do not share your particular disability, just as much as any abled.
likewise, this doesn’t just go for neurodivergence alone, you need to support and confront your ableism around people with physical disabilities as well.
when you're schizo-spec and you have a hard time knowing if your headmate is a headmate or a delusion
One of my favorite youtubers just put out a pretty shitty video about "scariest encounters with mentally ill people"
Naturally it was all embellished stories about schizophrenia and psychosis. As a psycotic person, gotta say. That hurted.

My paranoia: someone’s following you

i hate the schizo thing where its not even a delusion or a hallucination but you can FEEL pressure on your head/in your thoughts and its just physically pressing down on your brain and all you can do is lay on the ground and shake
my two genres of hallucination:
the hairless, pale quadrupedal animal that stalks around my house and watches me and looks only vaguely like a person
Everything Is Covered In Glitter
actually no i am literally better than apsychotics because i have schizophrenia. if i had the choice i would pick to be schizophrenic in any and every life. being schizophrenic means i am sexier and better and cooler and whatever than people who do not have schizophrenia. other people are worse for being apsychotic. they fucking wish they were me.
