Sunny drummed her fingers nervously on her thighs, which were covered with a slimming black pencil skirt. Her eyes were trained on the door to Mr. Altman’s office, though she was prepared to look away and act nonchalant should the door open -- she didn’t want to get caught staring. She really did not want Matt Altman -- THE Matt Altman, to think she was some sort of freak who didn’t understand that it was rude to stare. She did. Understand that staring was rude, that is. She was just a little start struck and nervous about her interview. She really, really needed this job. There weren’t very many things you could do with an English major that would provide a guaranteed steady flow of income, so publishing was pretty much it for her, but she wasn’t going to act desperate. She was going to be professional and sophisticated. She nodded to herself, a firm smile on her lips as she waited to be called into Mr. Altman’s office.
