Fateful Encounter (Chaemi + Luka)

“Get back here!” she heard a voice screaming at her from behind. She hurriedly limp away from the scene, taking one last glance behind her shoulder and went to hide from the other pack members. 

It was another ordinary day where she gets surprise attacks from other wolf packs from the neighbouring towns. This doesn’t not surprise her much anymore. But because the werewolf side of her was too tough even for herself to control, she needed to get out of the scene before the other side of her comes out. 

She pulled her hood back up to cover her face and limped into the city area where there were more people. The route back to her apartment wasn’t a far one but however, her strength was nearly at zero percent. She didn’t eat enough nor had enough sleep the night before so her energy was running low fast. I. Need. To. Get. Home. Fast. She chanted in her head. The last thing she wanted was to faint right in the middle of the street, in front of everyone. She plan was to live low-key lifestyle in this new town without getting weird looks constantly from outsiders just because she was a hybrid, and fainting in the middle of a busy street is never going to help.

After taking a few more steps, her mind started to spin uncontrollably. She knew she lost quite a bit of her blood plus the fatigue, her body was on the verge of breaking down. Before she could even continue with her escapade, the last thing she remembered was her mind going black and she fell to the ground, unconscious.

Nosebleed  { luka + haneul }

Haneul lived her life as happy as she could, even with series of stupid events along the way. She embraced it, really, thinking of every stupid situation that she had been in as an entertainment rather than disturbance. But that doesn’t mean that she likes being in one, especially ones that hurts her physically. She was walking full-time on the flower shop today, and she had met a nice little kid asking for a singing-card for her mom and thought he was leaning in to give her a kiss as a thanks when he was going for a fist bump. She got punched in the face by a little kid. And managed to get a nosebleed after that, causing her to be sent of home because the blood stains on her clothes scares one of this particular visitor until she passed out (apparently she’s not a big fan of Haneul’s Chucky Doll impersonation) in front of the cashier.

The nineteen-year-old was trying to tell this story to a bored-looking stranger who was waiting in line of a hot dog stand in front of her when someone accidentally pushed her and of course—of course she had to lose her balance and bumped on to the bored-looking stranger. And of course she bumped to the stranger’s extremely bony shoulder. And of course she had  to had another nosebleed. “Oh, fuck,” Haneul almost screamed, “tissue? Do you have any tissue? Anyone...” But no one has any, like a perfect cliche scenario of a comedy movie, and the blood has already dribbling down her chin. 

So despite her hunger, she ran back to the apartment complex as fast as she could (muttering strings of curse words on the way, and yelling some of them too) and said breathlessly to the first person she saw, “tissue—handkerchief—need.”

Quiet { Haesoo & Luka }

Haesoo brushed a loose strand of hair from her face, beginning to feel irritated that she hadn’t stopped to grab an extra bobby pin before leaving for work. She was now regretting not risking that extra minute to grab one considering that she arrived to work five minutes early. She quickly pushed the thought aside as she scanned over the paragraph she had just been reading again.

It was currently 10:39 pm, and nearing the time when there weren’t as many people anymore with the exception of a few students studying. As one of the only other two workers present, Haesoo spent more of her time hiding in the corners of the fantasy aisles marking books for herself than putting returns back into their original spots and reorganizing shelves. She didn’t ever feel as guilty as she probably should have since she had the entire night until morning to do the quiet work. 

As she continued reading the book, she scribbled notes onto a loose piece of paper she kept with her. Before she could continue reading the next part though, the sound of her coworker’s voice caught her attention. Hurriedly, Haesoo stuffed the piece of paper into her pocket and pushed herself off the ground just as her coworker rounded the corner.

“Found this in the child’s area,” Haesoo smiled softly while her coworker simply nodded and continued on their way. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she opened the book again and found the place she had left off. Before she could continue though, she felt another presence and looked up to see a curious pair of eyes staring at her at the end of the aisle. The feeling of being caught immediately spread through her as she took note of the page number she was on before slipping the book back onto its place on the shelf. After putting it away, she quickly escaped the questioning gaze of the other hoping that the uneasiness that had suddenly settled in her stomach was nothing.
