But man. There’s just so many. I wanted to answer SOME comments at least because people are so wonderful to take the time to write them out and send them in but holy moly there are so many waiting on AO3--answering the ones here on Tumblr seemed like a good way to start but I just have so many FEELINGS now

I go back and reread the ones on AO3 all the time because people pick up on and articulate so much stuff and it’s just such a pleasure to read through them all--I’m sorry I’ve been so lax about replying to all of them, but please know that I literally treasure them!!!!!!!

Ok so i cant wait for hanzo to stop being so paranoid around jesse but also mei and hanzo’s interactions are so good 😭🤧

I can’t wait either, Anon!! Having Jesse have to hang back out of earshot in order to help Hanzo be able to speak more freely is such a sad state of affairs AND I DON’T LIKE IT--but I’ve been super pleased by how well people have received Mei and Hanzo’s growing relationship! 

And I’m looking forward to developing Mei more as time goes on. She’s had quite the life!!

Ok all of afterdrop has me screaming but especially this chapter! I’ve read it like 6 times over and I still feel like I haven’t appreciated it enough. (Like when you have to restart a song because you missed the crescendo). Can I just say though that I really appreciate the pun you threw in. Hanzo going to get drunk, in the depression. Hanzo is in the depression. I know it was a serious scene but I was cackling. Thank you.

LOOOL, when I first found the depression on Google Maps, I actually didn’t know what exactly to call it since it’s not exactly a valley in the strictest sense, so I went looking for other terms and--

Well. It seemed a little too on the nose to be honest, but I went with it anyway. XD

So let me preface this by saying I'm not trying to legitimately rush you in any way, make sure to take care of yourself, eat a food, and get some sleep. You're doing good work! But... if you leave us with this cliffhanger for 3 months I might ACTUALLY die.

*I* might actually die if I leave it for another three months!!! I’ve wanted to get this chapter out for SO LONG, even before the impromptu hiatus! Partially because I was excited for the chapter itself--

ive read the new chapter twice and my favorite scenes a few times over more, but i still am incoherent about how much i like it. is it just me or are there hella parallels between jesse and hanzo being drawn like this entire chapter??

Time for many parallels to pop up and continue popping up. Jesse’s already been getting blindsided by a TON of them, and having a loved one return from the dead is just the biggest thus far.

Mackerel Anon: When Chapter 20 dropped, I was not going to have the ability to sit down and read it for a few days and I was supremely put out. It was well worth it! So excited to see how things progress after such a huge turning point. I'm sorry to hear about your Thursday but you've already accomplished so much and we know you'll continue to do well :D Would seeing me look like a dork miming Hanzo emotes on the Payload tour amuse you?

Hey claro. I've been following afterdrop since chapter 5 was released and I have to tell you how much I love this story! It is so well thought out and interesting! The character interactions are amazing and so true to who they are. This is my favorite pice of literature bar none! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! (If you come back to Utah you should have a panel at SLCC cuz I would love some writing tips and to thank you in person!!!)

Man, I’m gonna be honest here, talking about Afterdrop in public would be such a surreal experience! Literally no one I know IRL knows about it, so the idea of walking into a room of people and going, “Uh--yeah--I wrote this fic called Afterdrop--” and have people say to my face, “Afterdrop? I know that fic, I like it!” would almost be like someone saying, “Your bedroom? I’ve seen it! It has a good layout!”

I mean, if through some enormously crazy series of events I had the opportunity to do it, I totally would, but I’d probably have to lie down afterward to recover from just how WEIRD it would be, LOOOOOOOOL!
