not sure if i posted this before but as we know, roger is a smith but not biologically, and everyone treats him like a biological member

being brought up in a family that wasnt biologically her own, francine was loved, respected, and taken care of the same way as their biological daughter
when roger came into the smith family, franny (bcuz of her upbringing) knew it was important to treat family with love and respect even if they are not blood relatives

if i had a nickel for every time there was an episode where stan was dealing with insecurity, i would have a lot of nickels lol
but in all seriousness, this new episode really showed that side of stan again and i felt bad for him. bro just wanted to keep working no matter what as he feels that’s why ppl like him, bcuz he’s loyal to his job. i like to think this stems from childhood and never being able to please jack. he felt like a failure to his father and feels like a failure to his family (and country sometimes) so he gives it his 110% now as adult and bcuz he’s accepted now, he’s on a high of pleasing ppl. in reality, now that he’s been estranged to his father for years, he needs to realize he’s a great dad and husband and grown into a version of himself his younger self would be proud of.
