Remember we are visiting both the AGNSW and Artspace tomorrow.

Meet at the steps of the AGNSW

Here is the Gallery Task:

Working in your allocated groups for assignment three collaborate to do the following task

At the AGNSW:

Staying on the entrance floor study the European and Australian 19th and 20th Century Art (on the right side as you enter the Gallery).

Identify three different ways Desire is playing out within 19th and 20th century painting. Create three separate image montages to demonstrate your research, you can also use text or sound within your montages.

You have 40 mins to complete this task, then meet out the front (Vicky will give you a time) to walk to Artspace which is 10 mins away.

At Artspace repeat the above task to engage with works in the exhibition.

How has Desire as a theme or topic changed from 19 and 20th century readings?

Post everything on your Tumblr.

Presentation Help:

Things to do this week to fine tune your presentation.

1. Check List

What do you need to bring? Props, equipment, snacks?

Make a list and make sure everyone knows what to bring.

2. Location

Are you presenting in a certain site or room around campus? Is that site booked, cleared and ready for next week?

If you are using the class room do you need to reorganise it? Let Vicky know if you need to move desks etc.

3. Order of presenting

A couple of groups have requested presentation times. Is it better that you go first or last? Book a time with Vicky.

4. Rehearse and test.

Often Live works or presentations don’t always go as you imagined or planned. Practice makes perfect, so use today’s class time to test what you are going to do.

5. Research

Make sure you have posted your research and process onto your Tumblrs. This includes referencing any practitioners work you have used or investigated. Include information about links to class topics. Your research can be in any form such as a PDF on Google drive linked to your Tumblr. Research is collaborative not an individual presentation.

6. Critique

After presenting you need to critique and contextualise your work to the class. What are you going to say about what you have presented? Write some points down for discussion.

Class week 12

It is very important that you attend this weeks class as it is the last week before you present your final group project. Don't let your group down!

Make sure you use the class time wisely to research, test, experiment and rehearse delivering your event to the class. You can also use the time to book spaces, finalise equipment and any materials that you may need.

Remember your event needs to be engaging, well researched and stimulating and NOT a boring power point or video work (no pressing play and sitting down)!
