Throwback Thursday Film Reviews: 'Step Up Revolution' (2012)

The film, as a whole, is a mess. Even with the old 'save the rec center' plot attached to that of one dance troupe trying to make it to the top, I can't hate it. The two leads (played by actors Ryan Guzman & Kathryn McCormick) have dreams that they want to accomplish yet they should've known better to have firm careers that will assist them with being the best dancers in the world. That also goes toward the group entitled 'The Mob'. If you have people who are well knowledgeable in art, music, and technology, they can do so much more than to put their strengths together to win $100,000 to get their names out for the world to see. Winning a fictional YouTube video competition should be like the cash you receive back from the scholarships applied to pay for your college education. 

The film also could've done without any kid actors. If they're not named Alyson Stoner or Adam G. & just reading off the script given to you without applying any effort in your lines, you need to get some more acting classes.

Also, a dance group, out of the many that are known through shows such as American Best Dance Crew, beating Dubstep Kitty? It's eye-roll worthy and hilarious.
