Heyyyy long time horn player here. You should practice your air stream against the mouthpiece without the horn and see what notes you can get out of it - anything you can play on your mouthpiece you can play on your horn. Try to keep tension out of your throat - the power behind your notes should come from your diaphragm and your abs. Keep the corners of your mouth tight but your actual lips looser. Good luck!

I have been practicing with the mouthpiece only these days as I don’t have a horn yet, but I should get one in a few days (fingers crossed!). I can usually get a low-midrange (I think, I’m not super familiar with the horn range yet) buzz out but have trouble bringing it up higher (especially without stopping to reset my embouchure in between). I’ll keep your other hints in mind as well.

plus i l o v e a lot of other characters and wanted more of them but yeah i can see how you could quit it b/c its not the same w/out george (george was the best dude who was ever on the show ngl)
