Trans, queer, autistic, physically disabled DID system. 

I have functional neurological disorder with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures caused by childhood and adulthood trauma. I am a powerchair user and have a service dog. 

Our system has around 15 parts. Different parts are interested in topics such as space, horror, spirituality, spying, adaptive movement, Sherlock Holmes stories, Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, and Shadowhunters.

I am a librarian at a University and I love my job so much! I do adaptive improve dance with my girlfriend. I write and create art regularly. I love reading and am currently working my way through my girlfriend’s favorite series, The Mortal Instruments.

A little wheelchair adaptive dance. Tried not to push it too far, since surgery was so recent. But this is a very important song to me, and well, here you go!

45 seconds of my first choreographed piece in a disabled body. I honestly didn’t know my brain could hold on to memorized pieces, and I’m so thankful for adaptive spaces for supporting my little dances. We were asked to write about a moment that impacted us, and then pick three parts from that to create moves from. I picked getting my drains out after top surgery. About how the plastic, foreign to my body was yanked out. About feeling and seeing my chest for the first Time. About how I felt scared and alone but I was still the same. My heart is the same. And my body is mine. I had a person film this during a break, so there wasn’t any music, and it’s not head on like I’d like, but yeah! Please lemme know what you think, through reblogs or anything!

Always with the bed dancing

There are probably better words for this after I sleep off the seizure. And I haven't watched the video, because I'm ashamed. But this is fully me. I call myself a disabled dancer, because my disabilities shape every movement I make. From the tilted stumble I call walking, from how my fingers curl on the rims of my wheelchair, to having a (albeit small) seizure while dancing. So this is me. Celebrating a medical victory through dance (to "I Got" by Young the Giant) and then my brain misfiring. It's ok to reblog. It's ok to talk to me about. I am a disabled dancer. I'm not going to hide it. I'm scared, but I don't want to lean into the shame and loneliness. It's part of me.

More bed dancing through pain and grief. Who said being a mixed, queer and trans disabled dancer was easy? I hope you all are on paths to healing. You deserve it.
