Pacific Rim!!!! A Marvel movie!!! STUDIO GHIBLI!

I want to watch something new, which means I can’t watch Pacific Rim or most Marvel movies (with the exceptions of the older stuff, Ant Man, and Age of Ultron).

As for Studio Ghibli, I don’t know what to watch next! Maybe Castle in the Sky? I remember watching the preview for it on every VHS I owned when I was a kid. What do you recommend?

I got to visit London with my family over Christmas of 2012, and we stayed in Southwark. It was a great area and I loved staying so close to the Thames.

Kewl. I am so amazed that my prior visits have been so limited in range. I still have a few neighborhoods I need to check out. And I want to spend more time out in the country - eventually head up to Scotland, perhaps? :)

I was "stuck" in London in 2012 when Superstorm Sandy hit NY. We had to change hotels and ended up staying in Southwark. Got quite familiar with the area :)

I think that is going too far away from the classic Marxist definition, since "rape culture" definitely exists beyond the media. And something tells me the media may support that narrative, but it existed before TV and movies.

That's what I was thinking too... I've broadened my focus a bit and am now writing about how cultural hegemony impacts the portrayal of women in TV/films, which I've already been given the "okay" from my prof on. I'll probably still have a bit on rape culture and/or the portrayal of sex, but I'll see if it fits into this relatively short paper.
