A Day in Los Angeles // keri.bridgwater

11AM // Snagged a ticket for the opening time slot at The Broad. This means I got first-look at Longing for Eternity by Yayoi Kusama and enjoyed several moments to myself beside Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dog (among other goodies on the third floor). Next, a quick peruse of the gift shop and a coffee at Otium. 

1PM // Trail ride at Sunset Ranch in the Hollywood Hills. Tucked just beneath the Hollywood Sign at the north end of Beachwood Drive, Sunset Ranch has been in the same family since the early 1920s. A mellow ride up the winding fire roads of Griffith Park on horseback included amazing views over Los Angeles and beyond to Santa Monica, Venice Beach and the great Pacific Ocean. 

3PM // Check-in at The Charlie in West Hollywood. These charming, English-style cottages - once owned by Chaplin - are just two short blocks from shops and restaurants on Melrose, and three miles from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

6PM // A quick Lyft ride and it’s time for a Kaiseki dinner at INN ANN. This gem (which literally means ‘hidden retreat’) is tucked inside Japan House, four floors above Hollywood Boulevard. The high-end, seasonal Japanese tasting menu is a feast for all five senses, and the views over Los Angeles are pretty cool too.
