How to Be That Girl at School ˖ ᡣ𐭩 ⊹ ࣪
a guide.
Over the summer, people like to use their free time to be productive, get ahead in school, focus on their body, mind, and become their dream self! With back-to-school season approaching, it’s a great way to implement new teachings into your everyday life. Become that dream girl you aspire to be!
1. SHOW UP PUT TOGETHER (YES, EVEN WHEN YOU’RE TIRED!)
That girl ALWAYS avoids looking like she just rolled out of bed, even if she did. I live by the saying when you look your best, you feel your best! Help yourself out by putting on skincare, perfecting your body care, understanding and knowing how to do your hair, and putting on a nice outfit, even if it’s simple! You’re curating your presence and being intentional with how you present yourself.
Find your go-to style and master it. This includes:
a staple hairstyle (slick back, voluminous curls, cute blowout, or just simple silky nd’ straight hair)
signature makeup style (soft beat, clean girl, full glam, etc)
outfits that exude your overall vibe & aesthetic
Along with mastering your style, you must be organized and ready. Set out your outfit the night before, have your bag prepared and ready to go, and plan your hair and makeup. Avoid being in a rush to avoid looking like a rush! Waking up early prevents you from having zero time to get ready. You can’t expect to do your hair, makeup, and extra steps in your routine 30 minutes before school.
And of course, you’re not required to wear makeup, spend the most money for your hair, or be overly dressed up for school everyday. But still continue to make sure you look presentable! This can be done by doing your skincare, cleaning up your brows, making sure your hair is nicely done, having good hygiene, and putting on a nice outfit.
2. CUTE STATIONARY = GOOD GRADES
I swear by this!! Whenever school starts back up, no matter what, I’m getting cute stationary. Cute = pink (duh!!!). Ignoring the fact that 99% of my supplies are pink, the fact that it’s adorable nd’ pretty helps me become motivated to do the work. I always make sure to keep my bag + stationary the same vibe.
You don’t need to specifically get the color pink, but having stationary that you can look at and say “this is so cute!” should help you get that motivation! If you’re going to take notes, make them aesthetic. Color coded highlighters, matching notebooks and gel pens help create an experience. Here are some things on my wishlist:
baby pink composition notebooks
coach journals
vs pink notebooks
pink + purple gel pens
ted baker pencil pouch
leopard print pouch
pastel highlighter set
3. MAKE YOUR BAG A BOUTIQUE
School doesn’t have to feel boring when you have your own mini vanity inside of your bag! Of course we need the basic school essentials such as notebooks and pens, but when you look your best, you feel your best! Start treating your bag like it’s your own very glam room.
this school year, I’ll be using the adorable Coach tote instead of a regular backpack. I feel like tote bags give the luxe and spoiled vibe i give off. This is a general list of things you’ll see in your bag!
mini perfume
wipes + hand cream
beauty pouch: lipgloss, powder, lipliner, mini mirror, lip balm, spoolies, claw clips, hair ties
mini hairbrush
nail clippers + file
hair ties
hand sanitizer
feminine products
4. CREATE YOUR OWN RUNWAY
Have you ever watched a movie, specifically a chick flick, and watched that specific scene of the girl walking into a room? All eyes are on her. She just had her makeover sequence and she’s a whole new person. Nobody can tear her down. She’s on top of the world. You can feel like that same girl. Turn hallways into your very own runway. Walk like you own it! Even if you’re totally tired or not in the mood, don’t show people that. Have your head up high, shoulders back, and step with purpose. Walking with confidence makes you look and feel unstoppable. You don’t have to talk loud to own the room.
5. KEEP YOUR BUSINESS PRIVATE
You don’t need to post or comment everything that happens to you. And you DEFINITELY don’t want to tell everyone your next move. Let people wonder about you. Not everyone is your friend, and not everyone is going to be nice to you. don’t overshare. don’t over explain. Stay careful, think about what you’re going to say first, and go on!
This doesn’t mean that you have to completely separate yourself from everyone. Talk to those closest to you or who you can fully trust. If you want to make sure no one has classified information, write in a journal! Writing in a journal is a great way to keep information and thoughts to yourself to avoid over sharing. So remember this:
stay smart and calculated
think before you speak
take your time
put 100% into yourself
And that’s all! Keep working on yourself and you’ll become a dream girl. It takes time, and the journey is long, but your reinvention is worth the wait. ❤︎
From one burnt out student to another
This semester has been an absolute nightmare for me, so welcome to the resulting post where I try to help other people who are in the same boat!
How about we run through a quick list together, okay?
Unclench your jaw, relax your shoulders, relax your face, unclench your fists
Are you sitting in the shape of a C right now? *hitting you with a broom* straighten your back out!!
Maybe get up and stretch while you're at it!
Have you taken your meds today? If not, go get 'em.
Have you eaten enough today? Coffee/energy drinks are not a meal!!
What have you eaten today? Do you need to get something to snack on?
Have you had any water today?
Do you need to rest? There is NO shame in taking a nap or relaxing. If someone does shame you, send them my way
How long has it been since you moved from where you are right now? Maybe move to another room if you can.
How long has it been since you looked away from your screen? Take a little 5-10 minute break to rest your eyes :)
How long has it been since you've showered? (No shame in this one either, it's okay if you can't do it. You're not judged here.)
Do you need to get into some fresh, comfy clothes?
If the weather in your area will allow it, can you open a window or go sit outside?
Affirmations:
My grades do not define me
I am more than a grade/a gpa
I am allowed to make mistakes
I am allowed to rest
Taking breaks is necessary for my well being
This semester/school year will not last forever
It's okay to take time for myself
I do not need to be productive all the time
I am capable
I am smart
I do not need to perform to perfection all the time
My mental/physical/spiritual/emotional health is more important than school
It is okay to ask for help
Asking for help does not make me weak or less capable
Assignments should not be valued over sleep/food/self care
If you have the energy, maybe try some of these:
Reach out to a friend/family member/mutual
Change your sheets
Take your trash out
Pick stuff up off the floor if there is anything
Do your dishes/run the dishwasher
Do a load of laundry/put any clothes away
Journal
Schedule any needed doctor's/dentist's/therapy appointments
Leave your home for a little bit
Go do something you enjoy
Create something
Go for a walk
Cook your favorite meal
You are doing amazing, and I'm so proud of you. You can and will get through this. You're not alone <3
As always, please feel free to reach out or send me an ask if you need someone to talk to!

How to make friends at school ♡
Hi angels!! I am back with a new post and since school is about to start— or maybe some of you already started, I wanted to make a post like this so you don’t have a hard time making friends. Hope it helps!
ᰔ Don’t forget to ask me questions or give me ideas by using the button named “psst angel” on my profile! I am checking it constantly.
Now let’s get started!!
overcoming the spring semester slump. ᥫ᭡
i’m sure a lot of us students are at that point in the spring semester where the level of our motivation is going down, our minds are quick to think “if i skip this assignment, i’ll still have a passing grade”, and our anxiety over final assessments/exams/projects/grades is increasing as each day passes. so let’s take a moment to pause, take a breather, and remind & reassure ourselves that everything is going to be okay. the spring semester slump is very real, but it’s something that you can overcome! so grab my hand because i’m going to guide you through this!
let’s begin …
୨ৎ — loss of motivation
losing that spark you had at the start of the semester/school year can feel so devastating. it’s frustrating to see the changes in your level of energy and it creates this sense of disappointment. but you have to remember: this is completely normal.
there’s so many other students out there who are experiencing the same drop in motivation and energy, so step one is reminding yourself that you aren’t alone in this feeling! yes, it’s extremely disheartening to see yourself slip away from that academic weapon status, but you aren’t the only one going through something like this!
“how do i get my motivation back?”
ask yourself this: if you’ve already gotten this far into the school year, why would you want yourself to let go of all your hard work?
you’ve come so far! and, up until this point, you have been exceeding your own expectations! up until this point, you’ve put in so many hours into your school work and studies! why let all that time and effort go to waste?
here are some things that keep me motivated:
proving to everyone who doubted me that they were all wrong
making my loved ones and myself proud
knowing that i’m another step closer to working in my dream career field
maintaining my 4.0 gpa
make a list of your goals! this will help you visualize and give you a reminder of what all your work is going towards. i know you want to achieve your goals, i know you want to be a better version of yourself, i know you want to climb up to the top when it comes to your academics— let your goals be your fuel.
sometimes, all we need is a reminder of why were doing all this. we need to see or hear what the ultimate end goal is, so be that person to do that for yourself! tell yourself that all this hard work is going towards your bigger picture!
୨ৎ — negative mindset changes
you and i both know you’ve stared at an assignment and spent a good chunk of time debating on actually doing it because “you’ll still have a passing grade if you don’t”. trust me, i’ve done it. again, you aren’t alone in having those kinds of thoughts! i get it, we all have calculated the lowest score we could possibly get to still have a passing grade in a class. i actually did that on a recent exam i took that i also procrastinated til the day of to study for.
it’s okay to have these thoughts pass through in your mind, but what isn’t okay is actually putting those thoughts into action. don’t let that unmotivated voice in your head take control of your academics!
“but how do i stop myself from thinking this way?”
i want you to take a look at all the past assignments you’ve completed and all the quiz/exam grades you’ve received throughout the school year and/or semester. notice how you submitted every single assignment? notice how all your studying got you the grades you wanted? you managed to do all of that, so why let those passing thoughts take over? you have shown yourself, and even your teachers/professors/instructors, that you are more than capable of getting things done. why let yourself slip?
if you’ve spent the entire semester turning in assignments on time and getting above average grades on all the exams, are you really going to show your professors— the people who have been watching you excel all semester— that you’re letting your academics go?
and you’ll never know, but skipping that one assignment could potentially break your grade. complete it. do it. turn it in. it could help cushion your grade or even bring it back up!
୨ৎ — finals anxiety
finals week is slowly, but surely, making it’s way back into our lives once again. that week and the weeks following up to it are the perfect breeding grounds for anxiety to fully settle in. and i get it! it’s not a fun feeling. you’re overwhelmed, you’re feeling overworked, you’re feeling burnt out, and your anxiety is just seeming to take over the more and more you think about it.
gonna say it one more time: it’s 100% okay to feel this way! finals week anxiety and stress is normal. it’s an important week to focus on seeing as final exams make up such a big portion of your grade. your anxiety and stress about it is completely valid!
“how can i overcome this anxiety?”
i created this post on preparing for finals week, so i highly recommend taking a look at that since i go into greater detail on how to prepare as well as offer some helpful tips!
ways i manage my academic anxiety & stress:
creating to-do lists & planning out my week
pomodoro & eat-the-frog method for time management
journaling — emotion/thought dumping
setting aside time to do something that makes me happy and/or is relaxing
reaching out to my support system
getting 8 hours of sleep every night
forming study groups with my classmates
it’s important that you’re giving yourself breaks. i always say this, but i really am a huge advocate for making sure you still have time to do something for yourself that isn’t related to school.
allow yourself to breathe; give yourself time to relax your mind. if there’s anything to take away from this section, it’s always making sure you set aside personal time for yourself. whether it’s going for a walk, playing with your pets, chatting with a friend, playing a video game, doing your makeup just for fun, or even taking a nap, just make sure you always make time to do something for yourself!
a lot of the academic anxiety and stress can stem from not making enough time for yourself to relax. i’m sure you were locked in all semester and i’m sure you put in hours upon hours into your studies, but give yourself a break! go do something fun! don’t let your entire life be consumed by your academics!
i know i said in the previous section to get your shit done, and while i still stand by that, i will always climb to the mountain tops and scream that you need to make time for breaks, self care, and yourself. don’t overwork yourself! you might feel the need to just keep going and going, but you’re allowed to slow down; you need to slow down. putting majority, or even all of your time into your studies can only make your anxiety and stress worse.
final notes —
the biggest take away from this post should be this: you’re not alone in this feeling, and getting yourself back up now will have your future self thanking you forever! this slump is something so many students go through, but you have to remind yourself that all your hard work now will truly reward you later down the road.
you’ve gotten yourself this far! keep going! your future self is going to be so grateful that you kept moving forward!
with lots of love, faustina 🌷
