On Saturday evening, I received word that my friend @monmill729 was killed in a car wreck. Like so many of my other friends in Columbia, I met her through Marching Mizzou. We spent a lot of time with press passes on the sidelines and in press boxes, eating and laughing, and cheering and dancing along with the band. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders and spent so much time encouraging me to move from adbabd to adbphd. She always believed I was adbbfd. This picture is from my PhD graduation weekend in May 2017 after she picked me up from the airport, we ate lunch at Addison’s (our place), got pedis, and then walked around campus reminiscing. We didn’t talk all the time—the last text message was from me wishing her a happy 40th birthday back in March—but we always picked right back up where we’d left off the last time. Our days with the band, spring break in Colorado, and random happy hours hold a special place in my memories. I don’t know why I was so special to her, but it warmed my heart when we talked. She always made me feel like a rock star. Love you, Millermon. You will be so very missed. #ripsweetfriend #marchingmizzou #addisons #adbbfdphd #teamdoctorangela #millermon #heartbroken (at Francis Quadrangle) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2cYIjbJVi3/?igshid=1jscr0itnx6uy
