WHO: Pinky Parkinson and Addie Ivers WHEN: Tuesday, February 14th, 1978. WHERE: The Valentines Day Event
Pinky gazed down at the three red roses resting in her hands. She reached forward with her other hand and plucked one from her palm, spinning it around between her fingers. When Ludovic had informed her of the secret game put in place with the roses, she had been absolutely delighted. What better way to make Valentines Day more enjoyable than it already was? Now... the question was... who should she give her roses to? Or should she keep her roses and focus more on receiving them. She’d be just... so happy to win the white rose. Yes, yes, that was definitely the strategy she ought to take.
Smoothing down the front of her red dress, Pinky stepped out into the courtyard. Briefly, she allowed herself to marvel of the positively wonderful decorations all over the room, before turning to look at the crowd in front of her. Really, hadn’t people learned their lesson about events with masks back at the end of summer? She had worn a cover that was transparent, finding it a good way to get around the whole mask ordeal. Her eyes flickered over the figures in front of her, trying to see if she could recognize anyone. She spotted a figure that resembled Alexei in the corner, and she started to head in that direction, considering he was her date and all. However, she had only taken two steps when she recognized another, much smaller figure. Against her better judgement, Pinky slowed to a halt. It was Addie, someone who had been on her mind a bit more than usual today. She’d sent Pinky a gram earlier that morning. I’m sorry. I’d like to be friends, if you’re still willing. Silly Addie, she thought. Pinky was always willing to be friends.
So, before she headed in the direction of Alexei, she moved towards Addie. There really was no disguising her, thought Pinky, not with her height. Or maybe Pinky was just really good at recognizing other people? She didn’t have time to ponder this more, for she was now standing directly in front of Addie. For a moment, Pinky felt stricken with something akin to nervousness, and it made her halt for just a second. She persevered through this, however, and started by saying, “Addie?”
Now that she had her attention, Pinky plowed forward. “I got your gram, and uh, apology accepted. -- We can be friends, if you’d like?”
