“I’m not,” she snapped. “Can we just not talk about this anymore? I already told you I ended things with him.”. It’s been nearly two weeks and she hadn’t been able to say that out loud, until now. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying desperately to suppress the swelling sensation that had just formed in her throat. “Look Seunghee, I’m fine, I really am. You dont’t have to worry about me alright?” Sensing that the younger one was not quite buying it she quickly changed the topic. She knew that once her best friend started prying into the matter, there will be no end to it and typical Ade just did not want deal with her emotions, at least not right now. “So, enough about me, let’s talk about you, what have you been up to lately huh?”
“Not a whole lot except for juggling school and taking care of Byeol..” She said it as though she were stating the obvious, but she didn’t expect Ade to remember that she was a mom at her young age. Times like these between school and with her daughter away at daycare made her feel like a normal girl. Sure, she’d speak to female classmates briefly at uni, but If she hadn’t met Ade, she wouldn’t of had the luxury of girl talks. Something she needed to vent out her problems when there were some. “Can’t we talk about you some more? Your life is so much more interesting than mine..”
