#adelais talks #its been a while since I told a story so how about a chicken related one #my uncle had chickens once and I was obsessed with a red hen that I named Henrietta #she was awesome very sweet girl always burbled #i could pick her up and she would sit on my forearm like a parrot #well my uncle had a rooster too #fuck this rooster in particular his name was Pedro and he was a dick #well Henrietta was his favorite girlfriend and every time I would give her attention and pick her up fuckin Pedro would come running at me #like a bat out of hell I would never see it coming it was like he would sneak up on you #he would try to attack and spur me #I would kick at him to keep Pedro away and that would just encourage his onslaught #one day the dogs saw him attacking me and they went for him #ive never seen a chicken run so fast he outran those three labs like it was nothing #I had a newfound fear and respect for Pedro on that particular evening

#adelais talks #I started working in a biologics laboratory earlier this week #and ultimately sealed my fate as the star smartypants among the new-hires and have to bring my A game 110% all the time #and of course commissions that Im thankful to work on when I have spare time #eh times are tough mentally emotionally and financially but hey its like that for everyone rn #might as well be drunk the entire time until things start looking up again #also never want to hear anyone bitch about masks again ever #because in the lab I have to wear scrubs nursing shoes a lab coat gloves facial shield and a mask #listen if I have to walk around looking like a high budgeted sci-fi lab rat for hours ppl can wear a mask in walmart

Are you ok?

Definitely not! But I'm doing what I can to make it better. Allow me to change the subject with some story time.

So we have had this storm blowing through NC for two days now. And this morning I was awaken by these pitiful meows. But not from my cat. Nope there was a big fluffy black cat outside, soaked to the bone in the storm looking for shelter. So I got my boots and jacket on to go do my daily good deed. She followed me up the stairs inside my apartment so I could dry her off. Very friendly girl, lots of purrs and rubs. She just walked around the place sniffing. Binx was locked in my bedroom having an absolute shitfit. He hasn't seen another cat since he was a kitten. So he was hissing at her through the door. But sweet girl insisted on sitting next to the door to chirp at him. I aimed my little heater at her to get the core temperature up.

After about an hour I went walking around in the rain to see if any of my neighbors lost their cat. Sure enough I found where she lived and brought her back home! I learned from her owner that she was fixed too and promised myself if I ever caught her outside during a storm again(honestly negligence on their part. Who let's their cat out during a two day storm?!) I wasn't going to bring her back home the next time. She would be Binx's new big sister.

And that's how I did my good deed for the day.
