for the headcanon ask game: sg? specifically puck if you want
You have no idea how happy this ask made me! 😆
Sorry for the delay in answering your ask, I wanted to put more than one headcanon and I got a little stuck 😅
I have a lot of headcanons about our beloved fairy boy, I chose this one because it's the one I identify with the most! (and it's possible I'm just projecting 😅):
One of Puck's reasons for not wanting to grow up/being afraid to grow up is ADHD.
ADHD affects several executive functions that are extremely important (ability to plan things, start and stop activities/tasks, assess progress, speed up and slow down, change tasks, estimate time, focus etc), especially in adulthood! For example, dealing with executive dysfunction when you have no obligations is horrible enough, but dealing with executive dysfunction when you have responsibilities you need to do is much worse! Forgetting things and losing track of time when you have responsibilities is much worse!
In addition, many characteristics of ADHD (and other neurodivergences as well) are often seen as "childish", in the case of ADHD, hyperactivity, impulsiveness, difficulty concentrating etc.
Growing up, and becoming the King of Fairy, he would have to keep schedules, have several daily obligations, take care of a lot of paperwork (which combined with the headcanon that he is dyslexic makes the situation much worse), go to meaningless meetings, follow etiquette, paying attention to long and tedious reports, behaving "appropriately", stopping doing activities that give him dopamine, etc etc.
